“Alright, if anyone has a good idea on how to raise the money, I can give you a half-page column of advertising space on the front page of the Edgewater daily, and then maybe half a page at page 15, right before sports.” He scratched his head, it wasn’t much he could offer but business wasn’t really booming. The half-page he offered up probably would otherwise have been filled by some shady weightless product that was nothing more than a expensive laxative.

“Is it too early to start thinking about Halloween? I mean, I know it’s early. But how early is too early? You want to be early enough in advance that you can get to the costumes before the good stuff gets gone, right? But then again, all the best costumes are homemade. That requires a lot of thought as well.”

open: of trips and tribulations

Mel was, simply said, not having a good day. Today had been her cleaning day too, which basically involved her taking a floor of the Independence Inn and cleaning all the bedrooms. While tedious and perhaps demeaning, Mel loved the extra chores. It soothed her and it let her mind wander, relying on her body’s muscle memory to make the rooms spotless. (although there were some rooms that had evidence of rambunctious activities that made them particularly difficult to clean)

Yet despite that, Mel felt bothered. She couldn’t even tell what it was! The anonymous bidding business was definitely something. Or it was just that constant ache of feeling like she could do more. 

Either way, she wasn’t really paying attention when suddenly her foot caught on... probably nothing honestly. Her eyes flew open as the floor began rapidly approaching her. “AH!!”

I was in the boys lobby restroom, and I fell through the floor.. Did anyone else know that they administrators built the girls restroom under the boys?
