Seers are people who can see magically, whether that is distance or through time. They can "see". The gerund and verb are both "seeing". Seeing can be dangerous. Being a seer can be dangerous.
Seering isn't a verb. It isn't a gerund.
I decided it would be funny if I made Jurassic Park but all the dinosaurs sounded like modern day birds. Starting with the iconic T-Rex growl… my idea was a long goose honk. So I put it into my edited software, slowed a single one tenth of a second honk into a four second sound, knowing it would be really distorted but I’d deal with that later…

Either she's expactorating or it's a description of the way she's speaking, but the text as published is not correct. This book is written in limited third past tense...
