🐋 Does your OC have any relationships with canon characters?

—Yes! He’s friends with Ichabod Boyle from D2 (rest in shit, king) and Mortimer Ramsey (Eddie is nearing his forties by the second game!)

When he gets older, he doesn’t have any romantic relationships. I did briefly entertain the idea of him and Emily (she’s thirty by this point and hates him because of what his father and Uncles did but he’s not a bad guy and is working tirelessly to fix the Pendleton reputation.) But I trashed it.

🐀 Where is your OC during the rat plague? Do they make it out alive?

— Let’s see.. by 1837, Edmund would be… 21, I think? Making him old enough to travel, but he never leaves Dunwall. Thankfully Pendleton Manor is in the countryside, so chances of survival look good… as long as Father or Uncle Custis don’t carry the plague home with them.

🕰️ Does your OC have an education?

— yep! Finest education (borrowed) money can buy! He’s actually very smart, just lazy as all hell and easily distracted. I see him as having bad adhd (Morgan too).

🗝️ What social class does your OC belong to?

—Another wretched noble….. 😔💔 jk, they’re surprisingly SO fun to write for. Edmund’s on track to be “one of the good ones”, as his parents don’t spoil him so much as they just sort of… ignore him.

🫀 What would the Heart say about your OC?

— I haven’t thought about it! I’m going to imagine he’s still a child, since he is currently in the fic. Let me come up with one:

(With a sigh) “As sure as the tide and the changing of seasons— a new era promises a new Pendleton. This one has all the virtues of his grandfather’s generation— courage and conviction. I see him serving the empire well… once his father and uncles are out of the way.”

🌊 Does your OC worship the Outsider? Are they frightened by him?

— hehe I’m actually writing about this now! Edmund isn’t scared of the Outsider, no. Ichabod’s Auntie Waverly (on the down-low) showed them both how to set out little offerings for the Outsider, how to ask him for favors, etc. Edmund does it when he’s little and grows out of it, eventually considering the Outsider to be little more than myth.

🥃Has your OC ever gotten arrested by the City Watch? What did they do?

—as a child, no lol. And as I try to think of something adult Eddie would have done to warrant arrest, I can only guess he and Diana would both be brought in under questioning when the conspiracy leaks and the world finds out what Morgan and Custis (and Treavor, later) did.

🎻 Does your OC have any special talents? Are they artistic, creative, ect?

Edmund’s quite good at sword fighting! He’s got a fencing teacher when he gets older. Sometimes he jokes he’s going to join the city watch. I think if it were war times, Edmund would be a great strategist, like his Grandfather Alfred. But unfortunately, there is no war so Edmund works at ye old Burger King (becomes the prime minister).

Our Elections run much into New Members, amongst others are Monroe & John Mercer formerly Officers, since fellow Students in the law & said to be clever.

I was much pleased by Mrs. Washington and her spirit. She seemed ready to make any sacrifice and was cheerful though I knew she felt anxious. 'I hope you will stand firm-I know my George will,' she said. The dear little woman was busy from morning until night with domestic duties, but she gave us much time in conversation and affording us entertainment. When we set of in the morning, she stood in the door and cheered us with the good words, 'God be with you gentlemen.'

Edmund Pendleton, 1774 Omg, Martha Washington. SO ADORBS! I also noticed the comment about her business with domestic duties. While she was on a plantation that was naturally going to be more complex, I think there is a tendency to forget how tough domestic labor could be. A good deal of women's liberation from the domestic sphere is related not just to changing cultural values, but technology. Nowadays, if you want food, you go buy some things from the grocery store, shove them in the fridge, and cook them when you need them on your stovetop, in the microwave, or in the oven. You get your clothes from stores, and have machines to both wash and dry them. Consider how much time, energy, and effort was necessary in an 18th century American farm to get one meal. Got milk? Got a cow, that needs to be fed, milked, etc. Got pork? Got a pig, kill it, skin it, and gut it. And now you have to cook and store it. Even with servants or slaves doing work, you are going to have somone directing them. In short, this stuff was labor intensive.

I am unfortunate enough to differ From you in Opinion as to the best means of Securing them, being that of a Bill of Rights, my Objection to that is founded not on it’s strength, but my Fear of it’s weakness & Danger, and the impropriety of it’s Principle. The Magna Charta of England wch. our Ancestors so much valued themselves upon, had it’s merits; it unfettered them From some of those shackles which the dictated Will of a Conq[uero]r had in the Formation of their Government imposed upon them:4 It was all they could do, the struggle was noble & the Acquisition valuable; but supposing it Recur’d to as a model For a free people in Forming a Governmt. For themselves, it appears in Principle, humiliating & unsafe, the former in accepting From any Agent of their Power a Charter of their rights, which they Possess, & derive From a higher Source. Unsafe because it admits a Power in the Donor to take away; a mischief which produced the Subsequent Struggles about the Great Charter, to be found in it’s numerous Ratifications.5 The Petition of Rights there, was a further Progress in wch. the humiliating Part of the principle was kept up; the Bill of Rights indeed, was a further step in wch. that principle was dropt, and a Protest made agt. Violations of Right, still opposed to a Ruler in Possessn. of Dangerous Powers. Whether that has produced the Apparent Repose of that nation, and the Safety, as some Gentn. Suppose, of their liberty; or whether the first of those effects, if it exists at all, has not been produced by a cause by Far more dangerous to, and annihilating the other, the change of the Instrument For Power From vain Coertion, to effectual Bribery & corruption, is at least Problematical: I fear that a review there would Find the Power of the Crown in it’s greatest Altitude. However if they are happy ’tis well, & I wish not to disturb their repose.
