doing more reading/watching of videos for my diversity class and here’s another thing. i’m white. i’m a white jew, and that’s important to how I understand and experience my whiteness, but it’s often irrelevant to how other people understand experience my whiteness if that makes sense. That’s somethng I own.
However some of these readings are saying European-American instead of white in a kind of mirror to saying African-American I think? And I’m white, but I am not at all comfortable with being called European-American. That’s not really where my ancestors are from, and it also is a misrepresentation of how I came to look the way I do and how I got here
