I hope Galileo learns to adjust to a lot of human presence and cell phones because basically everyone in the state is going to want his picture. He wins all the photogenic awards. We had a work day at the bird house today and did a lot of chores around the place, so we ended up finding a few grasshoppers in the yard. We tried to feed one to Aymara... she's a Swainson's hawk and one of the common names people know them by is actually "grasshopper hawk," on account of all the insects they eat, so we figured she'd enjoy the treat. She did not. She mostly looked at us like we were crazy and did not appreciate the gesture at all.
