First Swainsons Hawk I have captured in a while. It was a good biding day Saturday at Lee Kay ponds. I finally got some pics of a Short Eared owl as well. Still sorting through those.

Pandora is a Swainsons hawk and educational ambassador for her species, it's conservation, and appreciation. She is with us because she is non-releasable due to a genetic condition in her wing and social imprinting from what we believe was an illegal attempt to keep and raise a hawk.

This is Aymara. Her eyes say murder but her tiny cheepcheeps... probably also say murder, actually. She always makes this cute tiny sound when I go to take her out of her mews, and then later when I put her back and give her food, she starts seriously screaming to tell me to stay away from her mice. Went looking for owls yesterday, had no luck. Did see a pair of Swainsons Hawks in search of breakfast.

The stare down. My friend Corey and I spotted this Swainsons Hawk while out last weekend. It was a little curious as to what we were up to. It did sit still long enough for us to get a few shots though.
