Edwin's Notebook

just a collection of images, cameos, and information about Edwin's cherished heirloom notebook.

According to a few of George's cameo's, he headcanons(? canons?) that Edwin's notebook has infinite (or Endless) pages, as result of being in Hell.

First, a bunch of cameo links; the gameo-archive tag edwin's notebook is a great resource and probably has even more details in the videos i've haven't watched.

Link to a cameo and notes where he discusses it (and calls Edwin a hoarder lmao.) and calls the regeneration of the pages a similar spell to Simon's regenerating ritual book. Edwin writes about different people, nature, languages, decoding, and runes!

Transcribed camero of George talking about what the family crest/sigil is on his notebook (it's a lion, very bri'ish) and how it's how Edwin's feels as close as he can to the memory of his family. (he also has a signet ring!!) He was the one who asked for a design to be implemented!

The 3rd cameo here talks about how Edwin went back to st. hilarions/the attic to find the notebook, and drew his hell maps as soon as he got out.

There's been a couple people who've made their own notebooks with Edwin's family crest on it here and here made with a beautiful template from ecchima based on the image George put on his instagram.

Hi boys. Thank you for these cameos. Just to have fun, Jayden, imaging being Charles and having to explain to a fresh out of hell Edwin what a punk is. In general, how big was the culture shock when Edwin escaped Hell?

Vestibule: Endless(?) Staircase [illustration: spiralling stairs as the top level]

I. Limbo [stick figures stuck in hotel lobby]

II. Lust [stick figures writhing together in a butchershop, hooks and blood dripping down walls shown]

III. Gluttony [stick figures binging and purging food]

IV. Avarice [stick figures seemingly pushing boulders back and forth] Notes to the right: "heavy [workers/laborers(?)], everyone in your way"

V. Wrath [stick figures swept up in what look like currents] Personal note of transcriber: I looked up notes on Dante's version to get a better idea of this, and I quote "Note how the two groups suffer different punishments appropriate to their type of anger--the wrathful ruthlessly attacking one another and the sullen stewing below the surface of the muddy swamp (Inf. 7.109-26)". VI. Heresy [stick figures that appear to be seated around office tables, or perhaps are laying on sacrificial tables? Possibly graves/tombs. I'm afraid this one seems unclear to me.] Personal note of transcriber: I looked up more notes from the same source website as before, and I quote "Dante opts for the most generic conception of heresy--the denial of the soul's immortality (Inf. 10.15)--perhaps in deference to spiritual and philosophical positions of specific characters he wishes to feature here, or perhaps for the opportunity to present an especially effective form of contrapasso: heretical souls eternally tormented in fiery tombs." VII. Violence (8-10 subsections are listed for this level, but they are small and illegible) [figures in a flood of blood or being impaled on the sides of the level illustration] Edwin's notes to the right: "trapped, impaled, submerged in blood"

VIII. Fraud [large level depicting giant snakes, dripping blood that reflects Lust's illustration, figures, and something else I can't make out (jutting outcroppings of stone, wings, hands? I am unsure.)] Edwin's notes to the right: "snake pit, gain human form by biting other humans"

IX. Treachery [figures submerged with only head above surface] Edwin's notes to the right: "frozen + stuck + chewed on"

At the very bottom of the page and levels of hell is an enormous creature that appears to be something like a dragon emerging from a dark pit.

When I saw Charles and Crystal's goodbye kiss I thought, poor Edwin! How cruel of Charles to do that in front of him after the confession. It reminded me of that famous panel from the comics. I get that Charles thought it was the final goodbye but still. I want to know Edwin's thought and feeling in that moment. And also, do they change after inviting Crystal into the group?
