The queen groaned as the sunlight trickled through the clouds and mist overhead. All around them the morning dew sparkled in morning light. Leaving their skin coated in a damp mist as they stirred where they laid in the grass.

It hadn’t intended to end this way. It was supposed to be a fun little joy ride, not a camping trip up to the cliffs. But the sunset over the ocean had never looked so beautiful. How could they have gone back and missed it? So what if they fell asleep in the brush? So what if they had leaves in their hair and they passed out propped against the hard hide of a Night Fury? It was worth it.

“Hiccup we have to get up…” Elsa groaned as she tried to roll herself up into a sitting position. The chief’s arms held strong and pulled her back down to him.

She huffed as she turned herself around to look at that smug face. Pretending to still be asleep despite that there was no way he could rest through Toothless’ belly aching over being hungry. Elsa rolled her eyes before pressing a kiss to the space between Hiccup’s eyebrows, ignoring the earthy flavors that came from lying on the ground.

“Come on, Chieftain. I’ll drag your scrawny backside onto your dragon myself if I have to.”
