I picture humanity picking one random guy and saying “You’re going to be the hero. Don’t worry, you’ll get eaten then come back and save us all." Him just saying “Alright cool." Then just get eaten and never heard from again. Then…. Massive outrage and panic.
"JAPAN LIED!" “IT’S NOT GOING BY THE ANIME!" “We’re… We’re not canon…. WE’RE NOT CANONNNNNNN!!!"
Then BAM!! World War III.
