Mauler’s EFAP videos are great as background noise but-

-they, (the usual 3 speakers) have a really nagging habit of being disingenuous when faced with certain opinions they don’t like via comment or directly. 

They like to use condescending terms like “that’s the point” “obviously” “clearly” in this context to be dismissive, (whether it’s unintentional on their part or not) and then use the word “objective” as a weapon to try to make their opinions the authority or the “matter of fact” in a situation where the other person clearly has a point, they just don’t want to compromise.

Kept quiet for about a year, and it’s not that deep tbh.

-but anyone’s who’s watched their stuff know it’s a good time, and the EFAP fellas are smart, they know shit, they know how writing chops work and how it doesn’t. 

This video is one of my favorites, JLongBone is in there too, she’s hilarious, this EFAP is what got me on her content.

 -but sometimes they (sometimes) fall into these pitfalls of being intellectually dishonest when all they gotta do is swallow their ego’s and just give people their due diligence and stop making things a matter of “subjective vs objective” when it suits them.

They do concede ‘at times’, but when they don’t WANT to is when they pull that crap.

OR AT LEAST concede a point, you don’t have to give a person the entire argument just to concede a point.

So MauLer and Friends made a stream response to Overly Sarcastic Production’s Trope Talk video about Fridging.

Naturally, the comments on the video are now talking about how Red was just upset that wahmens in media die sometimes and that she just needs to grow up. As if her point was, “any time a woman dies in media it’s bad” and not, “Killing off or maiming a character just to make another character upset for a few minutes is kinda lazy writing” and then uses a lot of examples of this happening to female characters (because this trope happens to a lot more female characters than male ones).

Because if MauLer and Co.’s community are known for one thing, it sure as hell isn’t their reading comprehension skills.

Why yes, I did watch (listen to while cleaning) all 5 hours and 50 minutes of Mauler's new Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness video essay. It was glorious. It's like he wrote the script by taking all my jumbled thoughts and turning them into something coherent.
