In your AKOTSK AU, is Baelor still around or did he unfortunately perish early 💔 if he does, does anyone claim his dragon or is it a Vermithor situation

This au is absolutely a Baelor survives situation, I simply do not see the cannon timeline 😌 (also because I need him around for some blackfire rebellion/dance of the dragons 2.0 shenanigans)

the trail plays out a little differently, once aerion yields the first time the dragons put up a lot of a fuss getting the attention of maekar and Baelor so instead of getting his head caved in it’s more of a glancing blow, Baelor ends up with some nerve and vision issues but hey he’s not dead

if Baelor was to die in the trail I think Azhdarkoz would bugger off to Dorne for a long time, but if I had to pick a next rider I might say Duncan the small?

Azhdarkoz, dragon of prince Baelor. Hatched from an egg of Meleys when Baelor was born. he is the largest current dragon of house Targaryen, a terror during the blackfire rebellion his wings left tattered from his battles. but in spite of this he is now thought placid, oft seen curled around spires of the red keep or gliding on coastal updrafts high above dragonstone. His name the ashen king was given for his pale crown of horns and ashy flames, it was also thought to be a nod to Meleys the red queen

Azhdarkoz’s calm temperament and baelors experience has led to the pair acting as a flight instructor for many of the young dragon riders of house Targaryen over the years

Name origin, Azhdarkos “the Ashen King”

Prefix from azhdaha: a mythical dragon like beast from Iranian mythology plus it’s a nod to baelors dornish heritage. Azhdarchidae: a family of pterosaurs, Quetzalcoatlus is part of this one Suffix from Shrykos: an old dragon of Prince Jaehaerys Targaryen

Rough size comparison for the Ashford gangs dragons

In order it’s Baelor, Maekar, Lyonel, Daeron, valarr, dunk and egg

Baelor, maekar and valarr hatched their dragons when they were babies. eggs hatched a later at Ashford, Daeron claimed syrosh as her second rider giving her the nickname “dreamdrinker” when he was about ~12, dunk met penny after the death of ser arlan but didn’t claim them untill the trial of seven, Lyonel got his by getting struck by lightning when he was about 20 then bribing the giant feral cat of a dragon with a cozy floor in storms end and copious amounts of food. He’s also made him custom golf antlers and bedazzled his scales

The little flames show what colour fire they breathe with penny and argithor not having any fire

For the dragon au I kind of want to call eggs dragon Uraxx because that’s the one in Tanselle’s play. They do get murced tho so maybe a ref to the knight in that story, Mirror shell? moon mirror? also gets a ref to the dragons hatching from the moon myth
