IT ALL STARTED LIKE MAGIC

What a name!!!!!! What an idea!!! What a journey it is about to be!!!!
I will explain how it came to be with a couple of seemingly random actions which have led to the birth of this beautiful baby.
Yesterday, I listened to Efe Oraka's EP titled Magic(that the most appropriate title for the project) on audiomack and went on to YouTube to watch her video for The Nigerian Dream, which has only 17k views on Mr Eazi's Empawa Platform. Shame on you guys, such a powerful song/video has 17k when the likes of her colleagues sing rubbish but get millions of views all because they shake their nyash for you. Bloody perverts!!!!
I instantly blew her trumpet(Efe Oraka's on my WhatsApp, Facebook & Twitter) like I have done for many wonderful songs that I have come across on the internet which were mind blowing but were not getting the deserved attention and praise.
Then it hit me like a brick on my head.
"Dummy, why not write a blog".
The pessemist in me went
"but you already did that and failed woefully at it"
"Yah but this is different, it's brand new. Fresh"
the optimist in me replied.
"Okay. What do we call it?"
"Unicorn. Cos it's unique and different."
"Nope. I don't like it. Unicons are weirdos and strange."
"Okay. We can call the blog ShitSlapsLikeYoMama"
"Yoo! Are you okay? Aside from the fact that the name of the blog promotes domestic violence, don't you think you would need to change the name eventually if the blog becomes big and it goes coporate or even public?"
"Yah! You are right.....what if we call the blog, 10 Good People In Sodom And Gomorrah?"
"Why would you give...."
"Wait! Wait! I'll explain. You remember in the Bible, God wanted to destroy Sodom And Gomorrah for their sinful ways and Abraham was trying to convince God not to do it that there might still be good people there. That he should not murder the good with the evil. And they had a deal that If there were ten Good people in Sodom And Gomorrah, God will not destroy them."
"Okay...what has that got to do with your blog"
"What am trying to say is that, a lot of people have given up on Nigeria. That we don't have good leaders, we don't great musicians, we don't have good movies(I have given up oh), we don't have good technologist, we don't have a lot of things. This blog is meant to shed light on the few good things we have that are great and worth celebrating. These are the music, art, movies, craft, people etc who can stand out in the midst of the 'sodom and Gomorrah' and give hope that Nigeria/Africa/The world can be good, great,beautiful, creative etc. In this blog we meet and learn about them in a broad sense that is enlightening".
"Wow! That's dope! But sha know that God still destroyed Sodom And Gomorrah when there were not up to 10 'good' people"
"Don't worry, like Living Faith Church, our case is different, we will find our own few good people"
All this conversation happened in my head oh. Chai!!!!
