11. Have a bit of folklore trivia you'd like to share?
There are several stories, particularly in the folklore of the British Isles, where fish seem to be clairvoyant. In "Gold-Tree and Silver-Tree" it is a trout instead of a magic mirror who gives the cruel queen her premonitions. In "The Green Lady" there are three fish who give a kind girl a prophecy to protect her from the fae.
I've always wondered if it has something to do with Fionn mac Cumhaill and the Salmon of Knowledge, and whether there is a connection to the recurring detail that mermaids sometimes foretell (mis)fortune...
