200 jours à apprendre le français 😊😊😊
French Basics!
Here is the basic pronoun set up for French.
These are very important because it will help later when conjugating verbs (I’m posting about them next!) This is just part 1. I will post more about pronouns as I learn about them as well as any “new age” things (I mean like how are pronouns working now with trans rights becoming bigger, in the LGBT community in general, etc...)
For some explanation:
Tu is for a more familiar “you” with family, friends, etc.
Vous is to keep some level of respect, keep a distance, or for strangers.
On vs Nous >> I asked on HiNative, and I was told that “on” is more so for spoken language and familiar language. “on” can also be used for the ambiguous “someone” that we use in English.
The masculine form of “they” is used if there is a mix of genders.

Bought this today for my French studies!
今日、フランス語の勉強のために、これを買った!
It’s great because it covers a lot of grammar and has practice problems and a CD!
たくさんの文法をわたってて、練習問題とCDもあって、いい教科書と思う。
Duolingo really doesn’t explain much.
Duolingoはちょっと足りない。
I’m loving the story feature on Duolingo! It’s just fun to see and test yourself! I can see improvement in my listening when I do this. When I first started French again, a lot of it just sounded like gibberish sadly >.<
I think if you have a fair amount of immersion, listening skills can increase to almost native pace in about 3 months. It’s been my experience in observation when newbies come here to Japan to live.
So, I’m thinking my goal for French is B1. I think I’d be satisfied with that.
But I’m also thinking of books I would want to read in French, lol.
I’ve been keeping a French journal for the past few days, and I’m proud of that. I’ve also kept up with my Duolingo. #smallwins
