Last spring, when playing golf, I innocently picked up my golf bag and tore a tendon in my thumb. I saw a doc for the diagnosis and rehab, he said, "Well, if you rehab properly and "everything goes as planned" (EGAP), you should be fine for golf in 6-8 weeks. With proper rehab, 6 MONTHS later I was able to again play golf without pain.
Take time to assess the best AND worst case scenarios in life and the chances things will turn out perfectly (EGAP) v reality (MLD, or "most likely development). You will find that EGAP, while aspirational and necessary as a target, does not, in practice, happen quite so often..
