Okay dudes, I'm going to hook you up with one of my favourite leatherworking hacks ever. As it turns out, Eco Flo's Edge Dressing is a great dye resist so if there are some areas of a project you don't want dyed, lay down a coat of this first. In this case, I need to make Kuroda's yugake gloves which use a very specific type of leather known as e-gawa - stenciled deerskin. Not having the time nor the resources to create a huge stencil with all of those microscopic cherry blossoms, I thought I might be able to replicate the right look by applying the Edge Dressing in the correct pattern on existing gloves and then running a couple of coats of dye over top. This was my trial last night. As you can see, it took a few tries to get the blossom design down but I would say we are in fine shape to move forward! 💪 #dyeresist #leatherworkingtips #tandyleather #ecoflo #redsun #egawaleather #yugake #kurodajubie #mylifeinsamuraihell
