These delicious Eggnog Doughnuts are perfect for the holidays. They pair well with hot chocolate or coffee because they are flavorful and moist. These baked goods get a festive touch from the eggnog.
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 1 1/2 tsp baking powder. 1/2 tsp baking soda. 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg. 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon. 1/2 tsp salt. 1/2 cup eggnog. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted. 2 large eggs. 1 tsp vanilla extract. 1/4 cup powdered sugar for dusting. Optional: Eggnog glaze 1 cup powdered sugar + 2-3 tbsp eggnog.
Instructions: Grease a doughnut pan and preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit 175 degrees Celsius. Combine the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt in a mixing bowl. Combine the eggs, melted butter, eggnog, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl. Mixing until just combined, pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Avoid over-mixing. Pour the batter into the doughnut pan, about two thirds of the way up each cavity. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes in a preheated oven, or until the doughnuts are golden brown and spring back when lightly touched. After letting the doughnuts cool in the pan for a few minutes, move them to a wire rack to finish cooling. Not required: If you want to add a glaze, blend the eggnog and powdered sugar together until smooth. After cooling, dip the doughnuts into the glaze and allow to set for a short while. If preferred, sprinkle the doughnuts with more cinnamon and nutmeg or powdered sugar. Savor your mouthwatering baked eggnog doughnuts!
