summary| when you and eggsy get captured on a mission, he is told to shoot you.
It’s moment such as this when the rule against Kingman agent dating makes sense. Especially if both parties in the relationship are agents. It made it too easy to target agents, especially since it was an old trainee leading to your downfall.
Charlie Hesketh. Once a possible Kingsman agent, back when Eggsy was in the running that is, now an enemy who has captured the both of you on Poppy’s island.
You and Eggsy, a forbidden romance really. You had already been a Kingsman agent for a few years when Eggsy came along. You weren’t exactly an active agent, more along the lines of what Merlin did, however since Eggsy joined you found yourself in the field a lot more often.
It was truly an unlikely romance. A true shock when it was revealed. Eggsy was cocky, you were the opposite. Quiet, but you knew what you were capable of, he liked that about you.
Charlie had captured you and Eggsy and in a very roman way, he pitted the two of you against each other. Only one of you was getting out of this thing alive. He wanted you two to fight to the death. It was ‘equal’ as he put it, giving each of you a gun with a single bullet. You were surrounded by many men with machine guns, you were trapped. Who ever lost would be shot by the winner, either way it was a lover killing their lover and Charlie loved it.
It was obvious who was going to win. Either of you would simply pull the trigger, which Charlie had made it clear that it had to be a killshot, you would have to physically battle. Eggsy was much stronger than you and you both knew that.
Eggsy had tried to lose, he even dropped his gun. He would rather himself die. However, you were smaller than him and could move yourself in a way that got Eggsy on top of you. Forcing your gun into his hand, barrel against your forehead.
Eggsy was crying, sobbing even. His vision was blurry as his hand shook holding the gun. You were also crying underneath him, holding the barrel of the gun so he couldn’t move it. He refused to put his finger on the trigger.
“Eggsy.” You whimper softly in some attempt to calm him down, but it only made him cry harder.
“Eggsy, it’s okay. It’s okay” He continued to sob above you, eyes closed, hating the sight of that damn gun against your head.
“Eggsy, shoot me. It’s okay. It’s part of the job.”
It’s part of the job. A statement that you both agreed on, no matter what, if it was part of the job... that came first, the job always came first. In that moment Eggsy couldn’t help but flinch at the statement, how could he be so stupid to promise that.
You removed your hand from the gun to place it on Eggsy’s face as your other hand was intertwined tightly with Eggsy’s
“I love you, now shoot me.”
Within seconds Eggsy was sat up with the gun against his own head, closing his eyes tightly.
“Eggsy, No!”
A gunshot rang out and you scream as Eggsy’s body came crashing down on top of you. You sob through a scream for a few seconds before hearing Harry’s voice along with gunshots. That’s when you heard the breathing and sobbing of Eggsy in your ear.
note: writing this when i have other things that are requested and people actually want 🥺👉🏼👈🏼 also, i love eggsy. that’s all.

“oh, fuck.” eggsy whispered as he entered the boardroom, seeing harry and arthur sat at the table, merlin stood before them with his clipboard, and you; the first girl he fell in love with.
“ah, eggsy, we were wondering as to where you were.” harry spoke, gesturing to the seat next to him. as eggsy walked over, he couldn’t stop looking at you. he had been in that boardroom more than enough times to know exactly where the table was and to know which seat he was invited to sit in.
as he sat down, you lightly smiled at him. he wondered if you remembered him. you did, most definitely, but you weren’t going to allow your professional pose falter by making an effort to talk to eggsy. if you did, you knew you would never stop.
“eggsy,” merlin started, grabbing the boy’s attention away from you. “this is Y/N, the daughter of percival. as you know, unfortunately, percival was involved in an incident last night and is no longer with us. Y/N will resume his position and reside here, within our branch of kingsman, with us.”
those words took a while to process within eggsy’s head. he had known you almost all his life. it had been ten years since you’d seen each other, after your family had moved (for kingsman), he never thought he’d see you again. yet, here you were.
“fortunately,” merlin continued, watching eggsy’s eyes flitter between him and you. “we have some agents already investigating the issue, so there will be no need for us to intervene. aside from that, eggsy, i thought you may want to show percival around.”
“er- ye-yeh, course. nothing i can’t handle.” eggsy tried to show he wasn’t enticed by you, making his whole demenour seem nonchalant.
“are you sure about that?”
“i think eggsy will do a grand job, merlin,” you spoke up, saving eggsy from some embarrassment. merlin only retracted, finally giving up. “eggsy, shall we?” you turned back to eggsy, seeing that he was looking at you like a lost puppy.
“yeh, i’ll show you the way, love.” he gave you a small smile, waiting for arthur to dismiss them before standing and walking out of the boardroom. he took you down the corridor, a fair bit away from the room before stopping and turning to you.
“i haven’t seen you in ten years and you show up here as soon as your dad’s dead and you don’t even look at me like you know me. what the fuck is going on?” he said in a low tone, his face contorting in a way you have never seen before on him.
“eggsy, look, i can explain-”
“please do.”
“and i will! just not here. is there somewhere else we can go?” now it was your time for your voice to be low.
“yeh, okay.” he shrugged, turning back around and walking down the corridor. after turning many corners and walking up many steps, eggsy finally brought you to a room. as he opened it up, he revealed a bedroom. it was neat and tidy, making you certain it wasn’t his. but there was something about it that screamed eggsy.
maybe it was the way the decorations were, the choice of them. maybe it was the way he confidently stood, like he had the upper ground now you were definitely on his territory, and not just kingsman’s. or maybe it was the way it faintly smelt of him, something you could never forget.
“this is my room, i’m not here often cause i’ve got my own place, but... thought this would be an okay place to chat.” eggsy stated, sitting on the ottoman at the end of his bed, only after undoing his blazer buttons.
“may i? you asked, closing the door, walking further into the room and pointing at the chair under the desk.
“course.” he smiled. you pulled out the chair, turning it around so it faced away from the view of the gardens and towards eggsy. you sat sheepishly, instantly crossing your legs over one another.
“i’m sorry about your dad.” eggsy spoke after a moment of silence. he was sat facing you, but his elbows rested on his knees as he twiddled his thumbs, his head looking down. obviously, his formalities didn’t stretch to old friends.
“it’s okay. in this line of work it’s something that should be prepared for.”
“you were prepared for your dad to die?”
“no, eggsy, i just mean that if someone dies, it’s not a rare thing to occur at kingsman. you should know, unfortunately.” your voice tailed off, realising what you’d said, not knowing if it was something he didn’t like to talk about nowadays.
“yeh, you and me both, now.” he replied, finally looking up to you and smiling slightly.
“what have you been doing, eggsy? after all these years.” you asked, watching as his body language changed from tensed to almost relaxed; you were just waiting for him to kick off his shoes and loosen his tie a little.
“well, i got into the military, but my mum was scared that she’d lose me like she lost my dad. so i went back home and she had a new boyfriend dean, but i had a little sister as well. i had to leave them when i started training here. i almost got the role of lancelot, but i refused to shoot JB, so they gave it to roxy- have you met roxy?”
“yeh, i have. she’s lovely.” you smiled, seeing eggsy was beginning to fully relax.
“anyway, the gave that to roxy, but after harry ‘died’ i came back and helped merlin and roxy with valentine which got me a place in kingsman. they couldn’t let an agent like me go.” he joked, taking off his glasses and placing them on his bed.
“i’m sure they couldn’t. i’ve already heard so much about you, eggsy; harry practically adores you and everyone keeps saying how much of a good agent you are. i’m glad i get to see it for myself.”
“what about you, love?
“well, after we moved, i went to school, made some new friends, but they didn’t last long, while training with my dad. he wanted me to become an agent as soon as i was old enough and ready. i went through the process, took the tests, i was fully ready, just not officially an agent. as soon as he died, kingsman knew about my training and asked me to resume his position as percival. i came back to london because i missed it, but i never expected to come here and hear your name.”
“why’s that?” he asked, leaning down to undo the laces of his oxfords.
“just thought you’d do something more academic with your life. i always remember you as the smart kid, who was tough around the edges, but had the kindest heart. kingsman never seemed like the thing you would do.”
he just nodded, looking down at the ground again and you were worried that you had caused him to retract the little trust he felt for you since returning.
“do you remember- nah, it’s silly.” eggsy said after a moment, looking back up at you while loosening his tie a little and undoing his top button.
“i might, try me.” you shifted in your seat so your legs weren’t crossed over one another anymore. you got into a more comfortable position, your knees facing eggsy.
he only smiled before saying, “do you remember when we first met? in primary? i had moved into your class half way through the year because i got good grades, but i always gave up. they moved me into your class so i wouldn’t do that anymore and so they could make you and i buddies, since you were the star pupil of year three.”
“i was not!” you giggled, seeing eggsy’s face light up as you both recalled the memory.
“you so were. i still got good grades, but i kept giving up; even you couldn’t help me on that. but i gained a best friend from that, and i was heartbroken when she went away.”
“you were?”
“yeh,” eggsy sighed, taking off his tie and blazer, only leaving him in his white dress shirt, trousers and socks. “i lost my best friend, i didn’t know what to do. i acted up more, but still did well in school, no one could believe it. as soon as i left school, i went straight into the military so something would take up my mind, instead of sitting in classrooms and wishing you were still with me.”
“oh eggsy-”
“i didn’t just lose my best friend, i lost the person who finally understood me, who i wanted to keep in my life forever. the first person i loved.” and once again, eggsy was looking at the floor. his elbows were resting on his knees and his head was inbetween his hands.
“eggsy.” you started, feeling guilty for leaving him behind ten years ago, but knowing you had no choice but to do that. once you heard him sniffle, you got up from his chair and walked towards him slowly. you knelt down in front of him and placed your hands onto his wrists. he didn’t tense up like you thought he would, nor did he try to pull away from you.
your hands moved from his wrists up to his hands, stopping their movements as his tugged and pulled at his hair.
“eggsy stop, you won’t have any hair left.” you whispered, pulling his hands away from his head. as you did, he looked up at you, his eyes slightly few and swollen. “oh, eggy.” you sighed, pushing your body closer to his as you wrapped you arms around his neck. he let you, placing his arms around your waist as he pulled you closer to him. soon enough, your chest was against his, your bodies being pressed together tighter than they are ten years ago when you said your goodbyes.
“i loved you, too, eggsy,” you whispered into his ear, placing a light kiss onto his clothes shoulder afterwards. “i still do. but you’re a different person now than you were then, and so am i. we’ve both changed.”
“that doesn’t mean anything.” he replied, pressing a kiss into your shoulder as you did with him.
“i don’t want to compromise a mission because of our feelings. if anything happened to you because of me, i don’t know what i’d do. i can’t lose you again.” this made eggsy pull away. he grabbed your hands and helped you up before pulling on his oxfords, tying his tie and putting on his blazer and glasses.
he wiped his eyes before speaking again, “i still haven’t shown you round.”
“eggsy-”
“it won’t take long-”
“eggsy-”
“merlin’ll kill me if i don’t get you back-”
“eggsy, your top button.” he nodded a quick thanks before turning to leave the room, letting you leave before closing the door again.
and off he set, determined to show you around kingsman before merlin wonders where the two of you had been. neither of you spoke throughout the entire walk, only the occasional comments of eggsy telling you what certain rooms were or what was in them. aside from that, you felt too awkward to speak, like you’d lost his trust and now needed to fully regain it; a quick catch up would not suffice this time.
***
you didn’t expect to find eggsy sat outside on the stairs leading up to the entrance of the headquarters. he was dressed down from the last time you saw him, only in jeans, a plain t-shirt and a bomber jacket. as soon as you sat down next to him, he didn’t flinch, only moving to his left slightly to let you slide between him and the banister.
“i missed you, you know?” you almost whispered, pulling the blanket tighter around yourself as a breeze hit you. “i hated leaving, i hated saying goodbye, i hated moving. i came back to london because i missed it, but i also missed you.”
when eggsy didn’t reply, you looked up from your lap towards him and saw he was still looking out across the gardens. only this time, the glimmer in his eyes was brighter.
“i lost the first person i loved, too. and i haven’t felt that strongly towards anyone but you, ever. yeh, i had a few boyfriends and went on some dates, but i compared them to you. every single time. i wanted you in my life forever, too.”
even as you spoke towards him this time, he still didn’t move. his head was still facing forward and there still hadn’t been any form of reply from him. you contemplated leaving him, knowing this was a lot to take in, and let him come around on his own. but you also didn’t want to spend anymore time away from him. it had been ten years since you last saw each other, and you were hoping to catch up and go back to what it used to be like.
you words earlier had broken another piece of his heart. hearing you practically reject him made his instincts kick in and, after that, it would be almost impossible to get his walls back down again.
“eggsy,” you sniffled, watching as his upper lip started trembling. “i’m so sorry. for everything. for leaving, for saying those things earlier, for basically coming back and breaking your heart minutes later. i’ve never wanted to hurt you, but i have. and i’m sorry.”
without even thinking, you rested your head against the side of his arm, him being too tall for you to teach his shoulder. like before, he didn’t flinch. but this position was normal for the two of you. even at a young age, you’d always been close and leaning against eggsy had been something you did whenever you were sad, scared or angry. he was a comfort blanket, and he still is.
“i’m sorry,” you spoke after a few minutes of silence, taking your head off of eggsy and begun to stand up. “i should go. i’ll leave you be-”
“please don’t leave,” he croaked out, a hand delicately holding your wrist to stop you from moving further away from him. “stay for a little longer.”
you nodded slowly, sitting back down on the steps and throwing part of the blanket over eggsy’s back to share with him.
“thanks,” he muttered as you got comfortable next him. “i don’t wanna fight. i’m sorry i’ve acted the way i have, but it was seeing you again; i didn’t know how to feel.”
“i don’t want to fight either, eggsy. and i’m sorry as well. just for everything.” as soon as you said that, eggsy wrapped his right arm around you, bringing you closer to his body (and his warmth) and you rested a hand on his knee.
as your head rested on his shoulder, you looked up into the sky, seeing it was clear and stars could be seen for miles.
“the sky looks pretty tonight.” you smiled at eggsy before looking back up towards the sky. he just kept looking at you, watching as your eyes twinkled in the moonlight.
“not as pretty as you, though.” he smirked, watching as you turned back to face him, a light blush on your cheeks.
“nothing can be prettier than you, bruv.” you smiled at him, completely ignoring the shades of crimson both of you were turning. at that moment, you had decided you missed eggsy. like, you really missed him. not a just a normal amount that friends would miss each other if one of them moved, but a life-destroying amount.
at that same moment, eggsy decided that your eyes were the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen. staring into them, even ten years later, made his knees feel weak. and he knew he missed you, too. he could almost feel how much you missed him, like you could with him.
as the night carried on, you and eggsy sat on the stairs for a few more hours, getting closer and closer together and pulling the blanket against your bodies as much as you could. the majority of the lights inside the headquarters had been turned off, the only ones remaining on being your bedroom, eggsy’s bedroom and the hall lights; it made the sky even brighter.
“we should head in,” eggsy whispered against your head, placing a light kiss where his lips lay. “it’s getting late.”
“and it’s freezing.” you added, making eggsy chuckles softly.
“it definitely is. come on.” eggsy stood, dropping the blanket fully on you and held out his hand. you graciously took it, letting him help you up and you wrapped the blanket around your entire body.
as you walked up the steps, your feet were in line with eggsy’s and you continued chatting to one another, but kept quiet as you entered the building. being the gentleman he is, he walked you to your room, up the what-seemed-like thousands of stairs before you were stood outside your door.
eggsy opened it for you, letting you slip inside and turn back to face him. you leaned against the doorframe, looking up at eggsy while he gave you a shit-eating grin.
“since i’ve been a gentleman, and kept you warm tonight, will you gimme a kiss?” and that’s when you realised he was still the cheeky, flirtatious boy he’d been ten years ago.
“just one. on the cheek.” you replied, desperately trying to stop yourself from smiling, too.
“i’m not looking for a cheek, i wanna proper kiss.”
“okay, eggsy. i’ll give you a proper kiss.” and before he could say anything in reply, your lips were on his. the blanket was completely forgotten. his hands found your hips and yours wrapped around the back of his neck. it was soft and sweet and so full of love that you wondered how anyone could be missing out on this.
eggsy was the one to (reluctantly) pull away first. but as he did, he rested his forehead on yours, keeping his hands on your body. only this time, he pulled your body flush against his, making you curl into the shape of his back which arched forward to meet you in the middle.
“thanks for the kiss, bruv.” he whispered through his smile, keeping his eyes locked on yours.
“anytime, bruv.” you smiled, too, making no attempt to pull away at any moment soon.

/////
The rain slams hard, almost as strong as my heart pumps beneath my ribs. Cold bathroom tiles kiss my skin. A shiver trails up my spine and just like that, I felt alone. The feeling screamed into my ears, pounding my skull. Traces it's soft finger along my jaw. A bolt flashes in the night, leaking into the lavatory.
I'm alone, it's nothing new. Yet now it stands in front of me, calling out its name. Voice declaring to be heard.
It's sad, the weather. How the rain copies my tears. I draw my knees closer, making myself small. Weak. My lips are pink from being sucked. Blood fills my mouth as my teeth sink into the soft skin. Copper and lust bloom on my tongue.
Warm light seeps onto the floor as the door opens. I flinch, fear sharply coursing through my body. My throat hitches, gasping at the sight of him watching me. The door slams shut behind him. It's Xavier and he's going to kill me. I squirm towards the bathtub, I need to hide. I need to get away from here.
I don't want to die. I don't want to die. I don't want to—
Lightning flashes outside and I see his green eyes.
Eggsy.
Warm hands cradle my cheeks and I close my eyes. His cologne wraps me. Fingers stroke my hair as I fall into his arms. He holds me tighter as if not wanting to let go. I grip the back of his shirt, his body warming mine.
I swim up towards the sky. The depths seem far away. Breaking the surface, my lungs steal the salty air. I breathe as he bushes me.
"Hush, love. I'm right here," he whispers. Eggsy was so warm, everything else ice. "He slapped me, Eggs. And... and he had...he had a knife and me...I was so so scared," my voice suffocating.
The bathroom fades away as he brings me closer, drawing circles on my back. "You're safe. You're alive. You're here," he says, voice enticing. I want to cry, everything was too much.
I was choking flowers, thorns cutting my throat and petals blocking my airway. I was drowning, Xavier pulling me deeper, farther. I can't see daylight. I can't breathe. Tears block my vision. A crack erupts me and now I'm sobbing, letting loose the monsters plaguing me.
Yet he was here. Eggsy. Beautiful and warm and exquisite. He shouldn't be here, on the cold tiles. He should be telling another woman his sweet voice, touching her the way he does; coffee against your tongue. He shouldn't be here in the cold. Shouldn't be here with me.
"You should go, Eggsy. It's...It's too cold for you here," I pull away, instantly missing his hands around me. A scowl forms on his pretty lips. I want to wipe it away, see his smile.
"And leave you here alone? Darling, I would never," he masks his shiver as Eggsy tucks a stray hair behind my ear. No, this wasn't right. The universe was crushing me and he doesn't deserve this.
He doesn't deserve me. As beautiful and glorious he is, I'm simply broken stems and glass. Rotting in the grave I dug my sorrows for. If shutting myself away from Eggsy meant protecting him, I would build walls to keep him out.
A breath comes loose and I... shatter. "Go back to the party and leave me be. You don't deserve to be here, Eggs. Picking up all my broken pieces and trying to put them together. I deserve this. I... you... you don't deserve this, love. I...," words disappear from my lips as he stares into my eyes with sadness and hurt which tears something in my chest.
My heart stops at the sight of him. He's crying. Tears dropping onto my lap yet I don't care.
"When I rushed myself into a relationship with Tilde, everything seemed perfect. How I fulfilled my childhood dream of loving a princess. Soon enough, I realized that all she ever wanted from me was my body and to use me for her sexual desires. It was lust. And then she gave up on me," he wipes his face with the back of his palms.
Eggsy shifts his gaze to meet mine, "I never understood what love was. How people were so attracted by the idea of it and longed for the feeling. Not until I met you."
I reach out to hold his face, thumb brushing away his silent tears. My fingers trace his strong brow, exploring. Stroking his taunt jaw. A smile laces his lips.
"You are...you're marvellous, Lily. Even though I’ve only spent months with you, you’ve shown me everything love has to offer and what it truly means. You, Lily, absolutely deserve the universe, love. For you’ve shown me what there is to love and who deserves it, you deserve it,” sincerity drips from his sweet voice but the words don’t add up in my head.
"No, no, you're wrong. It's all wrong. I don't deserve you, Eggsy. Can't you see? You deserve some girl that can... can bring you all the bloody stars in the sky and make your beautiful face smile that smiles of yours. I can't... all I can give you is the pathetically broken glass I am." My hands grow limp against his skin. "And I don't even know what's wrong with me. I—."
Eggsy shushes me, his pointer on my lips which ever so slowly brush to the corner. His bloodshot eyes flicker from my mouth to my stare. His fingers— the need of touch between us intoxicating— move from my shoulder to the back of my ear, cupping my left cheek. Eggsy grasps my waist, the pressure making me flush despite the pain in my heart.
A soft chuckle from him rakes my gaze from his collarbone to meet his gaze.
"How do I find the girl who can give me all the stars in the universe when they're trapped in your eyes, love?" Hand in my hair and mine on his beautiful chest. I looked up at him one last time, my ribs almost giving out from the flowers that grew within.
And I explode into wildflowers and stardust at the sound of his voice, forming words that caress my body entirely.
"You're the stars in my night sky, Lily. And I cannot want you more."
The rain is lost into a faint whisper as he crashes his lips onto mine, grasping to be closer to each other. Our mouths move in a glorious rhythm that shames the symphonies of the world. I press myself onto him, back chilled by the tiles. Hands adventuring, touching him in the places I've only dreamed about. They slip under his shirt and a delicate moan loosens from his mouth as I taste him.
I trace the curves of his body, admiring how he was simply a work of art. My thigh he now owns, stroking higher. We pause only to heave in oxygen but what is oxygen when I breathe him in, the smell of alcohol and cologne devouring me. His touch was so soft and warm, I wanted more. He made me feel whole and I was empty.
We break apart, panting and finally desperate for air. "You don't know how long I've wanted to do that," my voice breathless. His smile burns me and when Eggsy leaves hickeys on my neck and drags his touch up and down my body, it was the only way we could confess everything we've buried away.
He kissed me. I kissed him.
And right then, all the wildflowers in my lungs felt beautiful.

summary: a seasoned kingsman agent witnesses eggsy’s last test and sends him off with some advice. budding feelings between the two are even more intense as both witness the death of harry hart and turn to each other for comfort.
warnings: just a sh*t ton of violence and cussing cause, ya know, this is kingsman.
honestly i’m not sure how this will turn out but i love the church scene so much and i love eggsy so this will be my experiment phase with writing for him! def into harry hart as daddy too soooooo that will def be coming up in my master list soon. enjoy! also I super apologize for weird spacing and shit cause idk tumblr is weird w the phone sometimes.
The agent stared down at the computer screen with brows furrowed and hands gripping the armrests, “Come on, Eggsy, it’s just a blank. . .”
The recruit held his stance in front of JB, his beloved pug, gun pointed and ready. She could see the struggle in his eyes and it made her so frustrated that he wouldn’t just do it. The dogs had become close companions to the recruits, that was part of the idea behind owning a dog in the agency. This was probably one of the hardest tests out of them all, she had decided after passing it herself.
On the other monitor stood Roxy before her own poodle, gun aimed and ready.
She pulled the trigger and visibly the tension in her shoulders released. Merlin was congratulating her with a pat on the back, whereas Eggsy was still rigid and aiming. Arthur was growing very obviously impatient and she knew that Eggsy would not be able to do it.
In the end, he had the biggest heart of them all.
This proved to be true as he handed the gun back to Arthur, head down and ashamed. She watched as he scooped JB up into his arms and left the room quietly. Immediately she was running out of the room and met Eggsy at the bottom of the grand staircase.
“Why didn’t you do it?”
“You fuckin’ kidding me?” he snapped, “What a bullshit place this is-”
“Why would you even say that? You trained so hard, Eggsy, and you gave it all up for-”
“My fucking dog? Yeah, I did so why don’t you just leave me the hell alone and go back to your posh suits and fancy cars and forget all about me?”
‘I’d never want to forget about you, Eggsy Unwin.’
For a moment she was silent and shocked, the two had become such good friends and she would be lying if she said those words had not hurt. Agents were not supposed to have any romantic relationships, even close friendships like the one they had was hard to navigate in the agency. Eggsy pulled JB protectively close to his chest and looked down at his feet.
“That isn’t what I meant, Eggsy, you could be so great here,” she paused and placed a tender hand on his arm, “I think you might change your mind if you talk to Harry.”
The feeling of his warm skin beneath her hand felt like electricity. She had felt this way around Eggsy several times leading up to this moment, but it was so intense.
“I’m packin’ my things and goin’ home, ain’t nowhere else for me to go and I am not talking to that fucker.”
She shoved him, “Don’t talk about Harry like that, he got you here!”
“And I obviously wasn’t meant for it, so I’m not going to disappoint ‘im any more,” he began to walk away but before exiting, he turned back to her, “Y’know, you ain’t so bad,”
She crossed her arms, “Well thanks,”
He smirked, “Maybe I’ll see ya ‘round, luv?”
“That’s up to you, Eggsy.”
‘Please don’t leave.’
He nodded once more and turned to leave, reluctantly, and her heart plummeted. Once his figure disappeared from the sunlight she sighed and headed back towards the office. Merlin greeted her with a pained look on his face, he knew Eggsy hadn’t passed and it had disappointed him somewhat, as well. Though, he would never admit it, the boy had grown on him.
She was going to miss that cheeky bastard, no doubt. They’d shared some not-so-subtle glances and flirty comments with one another during his time there.
There were the secret winks he’d shoot her way, the way his eyes roamed her body when she wore a skirt, his smug smiles when she praised his work, but most of all the way he listened to her and drank in every word. In the end Eggsy would have to admit that her advice had turned out to be some of the best he’d received during his time at Kingsman.
She smiled at Merlin, “Roxy will do wonderful here, Merlin.”
He nodded, “I think she will too, good to get some females in the agency.”
She laughed, “Now I have someone to gossip and have lunch with that I can really tolerate!”
“Oh, come on now, I’m always down for a good gossipin’ sesh, yeah?”
“Considering your job allows you to attain private information, your gossip is the absolute best, Merlin.”
A few hours later Merlin received a call from Harry to reroute the Kingsman cab that Eggsy had stolen (which caused her to roll her eyes so far that it hurt.) She stood behind the computer-genius as he directed the cab to lock Eggsy in and drive itself to Harry’s house. Eggsy was obviously very mad, “Come on, bruv! He hit my fucking mum!”
She gasped quietly to herself and turned to Merlin, “Anything we can do about that?”
“I’m sure we can take care of it once Harry has talked some sense into him,”
For another hour Eggsy and Harry discussed everything and to say Eggsy felt horribly embarrassed was an understatement. She had been right, talking to Harry made everything come to light and make sense. Mr. Pickle seemed to bore holes into the side of his head the entire time, reminding him of what he had failed to do.
A high-pitched beep interrupted the two agents as they sat in the office, breaking the silence. Merlin leaned forward and beckoned her over on the other office chair, “Got a signal coming from. . .Kentucky?”
“Valentine’s?”
“Sure is,” he paused and hit another button to dial Harry’s contact, “Harry, listen to this. Valentine’s at last saying something of note.”
The four agents listened in separately to the conversation between Valentine and Gazelle. A location was discovered and immediately Harry was on his feet and ready to come back to headquarters. She briefly caught a glimpse of Eggsy through Harry’s glasses and smiled to herself, he had definitely calmed down and profusely apologized to Harry as he gathered his things.
“Harry, I’m so sorry and I’m gonna do everything-”
“You should be,” she smiled at Harry’s blunt retort, “You just stay right there, I’ll sort this mess out when we get back.”
“We’ll meet you at the air-strip, Galahad,” Merlin said before he hung up.
“Agent Percival, gather your things together as well,” Harry said before abruptly hanging up.
Her heart jumped at the mention of her going out into the field, it always did when she was asked to go. Especially since Harry had been her mentor, and still was, she enjoyed working with him.
Soon they were enroute to Kentucky via the private jet the agency owned. Merlin debriefed both of them once again on the information they had. While they were unsure about Valentine’s intentions, Harry reiterated that it was necessary they be on guard and ready to fight.
Agent Percival made sure that all of her hidden weapons and gadgets were working and ready before exiting the plane. Once on their way to the church, Harry went over the plan they had discussed once more. She was ready to figure out Valentine’s motives and put an end to whatever he was planning on doing.
“How is Eggsy?”
Harry quirked a brow at her, “It will take some time, but I think he’ll come back around and be joining us.”
She smiled, “He’d do so well with us, Harry, and I know you know that.”
“Of course I do, he’s just like his father,” he turned to her, “Don’t forget the rules, Agent Percival.”
Her face heated up and she turned to him, “What on earth do you mean by that?”
“You know very well what I mean by that,” he said as he placed his hands on his knee, “There’s certainly no secrets between you two and the rest of the agency.”
She looked down and tried to hide her tinted cheeks, “You’re right, I’m sorry.”
There was a silence before Harry chuckled, “He’s very loyal, you know?”
She smiled to herself, “Good quality of a qualified Kingsman,”
“Indeed,” Harry hummed to himself.
Just before they arrived she turned to him, “Thanks for teaching me everything, Galahad.”
He nodded, “You haven’t let me down, Percival, although I never doubted you or your abilities.”
It was silent then as they approached, churchgoers entering the sermon five minutes before it was scheduled to start. Stepping out of the car she smoothed down her blazer and tailored pants before taking Harry’s arm on the other side. They entered the church together and looked around for empty seats.
Unfortunately they had to sit on opposite sides of the pew since it was so full already. Soon after they sat down a small worship service began which soon turned into a rather nasty and bigoted sermon from the preacher. Percival tried not to show the disgust on her face and instead played with the buttons of her purple blazer.
“Charming sermon, can you see Valentine anywhere?” Merlin’s voice echoed in her ears.
From the corner of her eye she saw Harry’s gaze focused somewhere in the corner of the small church. Indeed, there was a small camera placed above them.
The sermon dragged on and honestly, she was bored. Valentine wasn’t showing up and nothing was happening, it seemed like a useless mission. Harry seemed to think the same thing as he sent her a quick nod from his seat.
Harry stood to leave, Percival deciding to wait about two more minutes before she also left so as not to cause a big distraction.
However, a woman next to Harry was rather peeved that he was ready to leave.
“Hey, what’s your problem?”
Every eye turned to Harry and the preacher paused in his sermon, eyeing Harry with hate.
Percival had to contain her laughter as Harry turned back to the woman and curtly responded, “I’m a Catholic whore currently enjoying congress out of wedlock with my black, Jewish boyfriend who works in a military abortion clinic. So, hail Satan, and have a lovely afternoon, madam.”
The look of pure shock on her face made Percival want to laugh even harder, so she turned back to the front of the church and regained composure in her seat.
Just before Harry reached the door the woman cried out, “Just leave this church! You just leave this church like the infidel you are!”
Percival twitched a little, a high-pitched ringing filling her ears for a split moment. She shook her head to clear the sharp pain out of her head and once her eyes refocused, something was very different.
“Satan cannot save you now! You will eat your babies! You will drown in the blood of the Lord! He will not save you!”
The entirety of the congregation was standing with fists clenched and glared at Harry. Percival stood as well in order to blend in, but she couldn’t shake the slight ringing that was still in her ears.
She ducked her head out into the aisle, “We need to leave, now,” she whispered to Merlin and Harry through her comm.
Something else made her twitch again and without any control, she began to see red and was absolutely angry. Her fingers curled around the gun inside her blazer pocket and hooked onto the trigger.
She turned just in time to see Harry shoot the woman point-blank in the head. Hell was unleashed upon all of them, then.
Before the person next to her could strike her down she whipped around and shot a bullet into their head. Blood spattered and stained her dress clothes but she wasn’t concerned in the slightest.
For what felt like hours, her head was in a blur of blood and combat. Anyone who crossed her path was dead and every person around her was savagely doing the same thing. Being trained in combat by the Kingsman has given her the ultimate upper hand.
The number of innocent people had dwindled and after being thrown against a splintered pew she met Harry’s eyes. He charged her and she fought back with all the strength she could muster.
While fighting each other they managed to kill the last remaining people as well. She took hold of a broken candlestick and charged at her mentor, who easily blocked her. They pushed and shoved, punched each other mercilessly and attempted to take one another out.
“STOP! YOU’RE GOING TO KILL EACH OTHER!”
They ignored Merlin’s pleas and finally Harry had her in a headlock. She growled and slipped out of his hold, elbowing him sharply in the nose. She smiled at the loud cry he made and the feeling of the bone crunching under her elbow. Just as she turned to finish him off he blindsided her with a pipe from the organ.
Everything went black and she fell to the ground with a painful thud.
Harry stood over his agent and trembled with confusion, the frenzy in his mind was gone and all he could remember was the pure desire he had to kill every single person in that room. As quick as it was there it was suddenly gone. The girl beneath him groaned quietly and sat up slowly, the left side of her face blackened with a nasty gash running through her cheek.
Her voice trembled, “W-what happened?”
Harry quickly helped her up and ordered her to stay low, pulling her towards the back of the church and under some fallen pews.
“I need you to stay here, I’m going to secure the area outside.”
“Then I’m coming with you,” she responded as she tried to stand, dizziness taking her over immediately.
“That’s an order, Percival,” he said as he pushed her back to the ground. His eyes were kind and she knew he had good intentions by keeping her there, but she felt utterly useless.
Harry stepped outside and once the doors slammed shut, she hesitantly made her way over the absolutely mangled and bloodied bodies to the front of the church. Peering out a broken window she watched the confrontation between Valentine and her mentor. She couldn’t quite hear what they were saying as focusing seemed to increase her migraine even more.
She didn’t miss when Valentine whipped out a gun and shot Harry without warning.
She clamped her hand over her mouth and sank back against the wall, tears streaming down her face and screams threatening to come out. He had just been shot point-blank in the face.
The world was silent for what felt like infinity before Merlin’s voice came into her ears, “You need to leave right now, out the back behind the dumpster-“
“And we’re just going to fucking leave Harry’s body? Absolutely-“
“There is no time, Percival!”
In her attempt to stand she fell back to the floor, broken glass piercing her palms. With what little strength she had left, she crawled outside the doors and limped to Harry’s side.
She sobbed over his body and could not bring herself to look him in the eyes, well, the one that was left. Strong arms wrapped themselves around her torso and she struggled against their hold.
Merlin flipped her so he was cradling her to his chest. She beat into him mercilessly and attempted to turn him around to at least retrieve his body, but to no avail.
Eggsy leaned back in Harry’s chair, tears streaming down his face and pure hatred growing inside his chest.
To see her so broken like that, to see the closest thing to a father he ever had shot dead, to sit in that empty house knowing he would not return killed him inside.
