Urbano is proud to announce that its teaching artist, Lina Maria Giraldo, was awarded a NEFA Creative City Grant for her “City Journalists” project in collaboration with Urbano Project. Lina’s place-based project documents Egleston Square by employing common cellphone technology to provide a voice to the struggle of gentrification in a diverse, predominantly Latino neighborhood. NEFA Creative City grants supports individual artists, artist collectives, and artistic collaborations in all disciplines and with roots in diverse cultures, forms, and aesthetics.
