MONTAUK: An ARG from the Puppet Collection team

This is a fan-made ARG revolving around egos from both Jacksepticeye and Markiplier. We aren’t endorsed by either of them, this is solely for fun!

Is this an RP? / What is an ARG?

This is not a roleplay, it’s an Alternate Reality Game. Think of it as interactive storytelling using the real world as platform. They ask you to suspend disbelief and act as if your actions have real world consequences. Treat the characters you might be interacting with over the internet (as yourself) like real people. If you have more doubts about, I suggest getting acquainted with the wikipedia page about ARGs or doing some reading on unfiction. Please remember the basic foundation of ARGs: This Is Not A Game.

What are the trigger warnings? Is this as intense as Puppet Collection?

It is less gory than Puppet Collection, but more mental stress. manipulation, abuse, psychological horror, suicide, suicide baiting, psychological torture. MORE MAY BE ADDED AS THE PLOT PROGRESSES. THIS IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART OR CHILDREN.

Is this different than Puppet Collection? What can I expect?

The format and the topic of this ARG are both very different from Puppet Collection, but it does take place within the same lore. You do not need to have participated in PC or know anything about it to join! We actually encourage fresh blood new people! Montauk is more of a “traditional” ARG. This means it doesn’t follow the whole seven trials format, so no eliminations. You can still get kicked/banned if you’re a dick, like anything.

The sheer amount of ego ARGs starting up from being inspired by PC is incredible!! As always, keep it safe and fun for your players, and all that jazz I’ve talked about a lot before. But more importantly.

If you are using the same format that Puppet Collection is, PLEASE CREDIT THE EVERYMANHYBRID BOYS.

About PC and other ARGs

I’m loving the fact that all of this creativity is popping up and that we could inspire it, but here’s a quick thing.

Like I said in my other post, the format of PC isn’t original. Credit the EMH boys if you use it.

I’m more than happy to see fan-made ego ARGs, but I don’t want any fan-made PCs. This means no Bunrakus, Marionettes, Rosemary Road, etc etc. Create your own ideas!

Please don’t hesitate to ask me questions! If you don’t think it can be worked out through an ask, shoot me a tumblr message or join my OOG server.
