She thinks to herself, not daring to utter aloud. “ I don't care who you spend your free time with. ” She states calmly, trying to remain casual. “ Just thought you two looked pretty cozy... That's all. ” There's a shrug released from her shoulders as she tries her best to ignore the uncomfortable ache beneath her chest.

' well , some would say that i just can't get enough of or i'm running a very long errand for dr al-hashimi ' dr robby then goes to clear throat , the burnout is REAL in the ER. everyone grieves in their own way when a case doesn't go how you expected or ? a patient arrives with unexpected trauma that triggers something deep within. for now , the pitt is for the most part manageable , it's QUIET ; livable.
' no one saw that coming ' he starts , hands going to play upon jawline as he looks at dr nash. ' much less the trauma that comes with seeing a patient with an addiction play out ... ' oftentimes , there's a reason one becomes a doctor ---- the calling to reside within the ER is a unique one , and even robby isn't quite sure he understands why he's been here for so long. perhaps it's the avoidance that bubbles beneath the surface , knowing that patients come and go that there isn't any REAL commitment but within those 24-48 hours. (he's good with empathy , good with care but still ...)
he's not only the senior attending physician but he carries the emotions of the ER , his team vital to setting the tone in the emergency room. there's an accident earlier today that rattled him , one that was dear to his heart and a reminder that he still needs to sort his head out. PTSD is lingering , crawls into heart and burrows deep.
' is your son home for summer break ? ' changing the conversation ever so in case she needs it , a reminder that HE ALSO PAYS ATTENTION. that his doctors are people he admires , and he is proud to be a mentor of sorts. (though you'll never see him admit such a thing.)

she feels like she led him astray in the best possible way. sunday service had finished, they had arrived back home and she had pounced. it was the rare occasion that they were both off the entire day, and athena intended to make good use of that extra time alone together. and she did. a sheet just barely covers their bodies, and her fingers trace mindless shapes on his chest as they both come down from the high. she has one leg draped over his, curled up against his body as she lets out a sigh of content.
she shifts a little then, chin resting on his shoulder as she gazes at her husband. ❝ something about you in your church clothes just does something to me. ❞ she laughs, like she has to explain her insatiable need when they arrived home. ❝ how many hail mary’s does a woman have to say for lusting after her man in gods house? ❞

He finishes putting water into it and scoops two heavy spoonfuls of coffee into the machine and shuts the lid before turning it on. He feels her behind him and before he can say anything or turn around, she's hooking a finger in the belt loop of his pants. He laughs as she pulls him toward her. "Hello to you too."
