tell me about the egypt exhibit yesterday!!! :D
It was pretty cool! There was a real mummy! But I didn't photograph her because it seems a bit disrespectful to photograph an actual dead person. I dunno.
I did get this photo of a cat mummy, though:
The textiles were really neat. They're so old, but they look like something you might find at the store today. Some of them were striped. I always think solid colors, you how? But Egyptians had style.
I didn't mention it in the last post, but they had a replica of the Rosetta Stone there:
That would be the stone that finally helped crack the code of the Egyptian Hieroglyphics. One day I would like to see the real thing, but even seeing the replica was pretty cool.
Oh course, I admired the jewelry, too, like this collar necklace:
It looks like it's restrung with modern thread. I wonder who's job that was.
There were lots of dioramas of temples, too. I didn't get any photographs of those. They had buttons that you could push to light up certain areas. I love interactive displays. Especially since some of the antiquities were not behind glass and I had to be a grown-up and not touch them. It was good that they gave me things I was allowed to play with. XD
Ask me anything!
