Banff Canada Tweetup

This is happening! I started playing around with the idea a few months ago but after going to CHSH and having the time of my life I am now going all the way with it.

The Eh Day 2011 tweetup in Banff, Canada is officially on for the weekend of August 19-21. I'm only planning group activities for those 3 days, but if you're travelling here from any distance I would highly recommend you add a day or two to your trip and spend some time seeing the Rockies (just Google 'Banff' and you'll find all kinds of things to see and do). It is truly one of the most beautiful places I've ever been and I encourage everyone to come out and see it.

I'll be posting more about flights, hotels, etc in a week or so, but for now I just thought I'd get the ball rolling.

Some of the activities I've got planned so far are:

Pub Golf on Friday night - 9 bars, 9 drinks (read more here). We'll walk from bar to bar, following a scorecard with specific drinks at each place, and the winner will be awarded a prize. Bring goofy golf attire!

Johnston Canyon hike on Saturday morning 

An exhilarating but not too strenuous 90 minute hike through beautiful Johnston Canyon; wildlife, waterfalls, and unending picture opportunities.

Banff Hot Springs on Saturday afternoon

Relax in the natural mineral water hot spring pools, surrounded by the Rocky Mountains, before going out for an evening of drinking.

Drinks at Tommy's Pub on Saturday night - Food and drinks at this great Irish pub in the heart of Banff.
