Maxine was tossing a frisbee around for her dogs - both Rhodesian ridgebacks, and neither of them exactly on a leash. But the dogs needed the exercise, and it wasn't like the park wasn't a huge area. She sat on the back of a park bench, watching in amusement as her dogs fought to be the one to catch and retrive the thrown frisbee. The blonde wasn't sure how Nala managed it, but the one dog used her brother as a launch pad, and grabbed the disc in the air, before proudly beginning to trot back to he owner.

"Now, that was impressive!" Maxine called out in amusement to no one in particular. There was, however, someone who was walking by, that she chose to engage with. "Was I the only one who saw that?"

Bea would have been lying if she said that walking downtown didn’t feel comfortable and warm, even after all the time that had passed. She’d arrived early, hoping to enjoy the familiarity of the place before many people were out and about. It would only be a matter of time until she ran into someone she knew and she was doubtful any interaction with someone from her past would be very friendly. If her wolf transformation four years ago hadn’t alienated her from all her old friends, the way she severed ties with anything Rainier related when she left for the mundane world would probably have done it. Coming back wasn’t her first choice, but she wasn’t sure where else to go so there she was; strolling down the sidewalk, pretending to talk on her phone so no one would bother her.

It didn’t last long, as someone tapped her shoulder, she held up a finger and pretended to end her imaginary phone call. Sticking the device into her pocket, Bea turned ad greeted them with a slightly disgruntled look. “Hey.”

Waking up early was the worst part of Melissa’s job. The Lounge had to be open up early enough for people to drop their pets off before work so she had to be there at the butt crack of dawn. It sucked, but she did really love her job. She got to hang out with animals all day and that alone beat any kind of retail job that was out there. Carrying the largest cup of coffee she could buy, she got out of her car parked in the parking in front of The Lounge. She yawned as she looked around. The city was always eerily quiet at this hour and she didn’t like it. She took a sip from her coffee before heading toward the door. Something stopped her dead in her tracks. She listened carefully for a moment before she turned around. “It is before six o’clock in the morning and you better have a damned good explanation for being here,” she greeted sharply, trying to calm down her racing heartbeat.
