Significance of Eid Takbir
Declaring Superiority: It emphasizes that Allah is greater than anything in existence—our desires, families, activities, and worries.
Expression of Gratitude: It is a direct response to the Quranic command to glorify Allah for guiding believers through Ramadan (Eid al-Fitr) or enabling the sacrifice of Hajj (Eid al-Adha).

The Full Takbir (Formula) The most common and encouraged form is:
"Allāhu Akbar, Allāhu Akbar, Lā ilāha illa Allāh, Allāhu Akbar, Allāhu Akbar, wa lillāhil-ḥamd."
(Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. There is no deity except Allah. Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, and to Allah belongs all praise).
When to Recite the Eid Takbir
Eid al-Fitr: Begins at sunset on the last night of Ramadan (when the moon is sighted) and continues until the Eid prayer begins.
Eid al-Adha: Starts from the Fajr of the Day of Arafah (9th Dhul-Hijjah) and lasts until the Asr prayer on the last day of Tashreeq (13th Dhul-Hijjah).
Practice: It is Sunnah to recite the Takbir loudly (for men) and silently (for women) in homes, mosques, and marketplaces, bringing the spirit of Eid to the community.

ঈদের তাকবির কখন ও কীভাবে পড়বেন
ঈদের তারিখ নির্ধারিত হওয়ার সঙ্গে সঙ্গে মুসলিম সম্প্রদায়ের মধ্যে শুভেচ্ছা বিনিময় শুরু হয়। বিশেষ করে ঈদের দিনে মুমিনরা পরস্পরের সঙ্গে দেখা-সাক্ষাতের সময় কল্যাণকরভাবে শুভেচ্ছা বিনিময় করেন। এই শুভেচ্ছার দোয়া হলো: তাকাব্বালাল্লাহু মিন্না ওয়া মিনকুম (আল্লাহ আমাদের ও আপনার ভালো কাজগুলো কবুল করুন)
প্রিয় নবী (সা.) এই দোয়ার মাধ্যমে শুভেচ্ছা বিনিময়ের শিক্ষা দিয়েছেন। হাদিসে উল্লেখ আছে, রাসুলুল্লাহ (সা.) ও তাঁর সাহাবিরা ঈদের দিনে একে অপরকে বলতেন, ‘তাকাব্বালাল্লাহু মিন্না ওয়া মিনকুম’।
ঈদুল ফিতরে যেসব তাকবির পড়বেন
আল্লাহ তাআলা তার মহত্ব ঘোষণায় তাকবির পড়ার নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন। অধিকাংশ ওলামায়ে কেরাম ঈদের চাঁদ ওঠার পর থেকে তাকবির পড়াকে ওয়াজিব বা আবশ্যক বলেছেন। ঈদের (শাওয়ালের) চাঁদ দেখার পর থেকে নামাজ পড়ে বাড়ি ফিরে আসা পর্যন্ত তাকবির পড়তে হয়। এতে বরকত ও পবিত্রতা অর্জিত হয়। মহান আল্লাহ কোরআনুল কারিমে নির্দেশ দেন- وَلِتُكْمِلُواْ الْعِدَّةَ وَلِتُكَبِّرُواْ اللّهَ عَلَى مَا هَدَاكُمْ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ 'আর তোমাদের আল্লাহ তাআলার মহত্ত্ব বর্ণনা কর, যাতে তোমরা কৃতজ্ঞতা স্বীকার কর।’( সুরা বাকারা : আয়াত ১৮৫)
ঈদের দিন যে তাকবির পড়বেন রমজানের রোজা পালনকারীরা ঈদের চাঁদ দেখার পর উচ্চ আওয়াজে তাকবির পড়বেন। নামাজ পড়তে যাওয়ার সময় তাকবির পড়বেন। ঈদের নামাজের পর সালাম ফিরিয়ে তাকবির পড়বেন। হাদিসে এসেছে- উম্মে আতিয়াহ রাদিয়াল্লাহু আনহা বলেন, ‘এমনকি আমরা মাসিক হওয়া নারীদের নিয়েও ঈদগাহে বের হতাম। তারা পুরুষদের পেছনে অবস্থান করত। পুরুষদের তাকবিরের আওয়াজ শুনে নারীরাও তাকবির পাঠ করতো। তারা দোয়া শুনেও দোয়া করতো। তারাও ঈদের বরকত ও পবিত্রতা আশা করতো।’ (বুখারি ও মুসলিম)
ঈদুল আজহার সময় তাকবির পড়ার নিয়ম
ঈদুল আজহার সময় ৯ জিলহজ ফজর নামাজের পর থেকে ১৩ জিলহজ আসর নামাজ পর্যন্ত প্রত্যেক ফরজ নামাজের পর তাকবির পড়া সুন্নত। এই তাকবির একবার উচ্চস্বরে এবং তিনবার নিম্নস্বরে পড়তে হয়। তাকবিরটি হলো:
উচ্চারণ: আল্লাহু আকবার, আল্লাহু আকবার, লা-ইলাহা ইল্লাল্লাহু ওয়াল্লাহু আকবার, আল্লাহু আকবার, ওয়া লিল্লাহিল হামদ।
এর অর্থ: আল্লাহ মহান, আল্লাহ অতি মহান, তিনি ছাড়া কোনো সত্যিকার মাবুদ নেই। আল্লাহ মহান, আল্লাহ মহান, আর সমস্ত প্রশংসা শুধু তাঁরই জন্য।
তাকবিরের গুরুত্ব
এই তাকবির আল্লাহর শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব ও মহত্ত্ব ঘোষণা করে, যা মুসলমানদের ইমানের একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অংশ। আল্লাহর মহত্ত্বের প্রকৃত গভীরতা কোনো মানুষের পক্ষে পুরোপুরি অনুধাবন করা সম্ভব নয়। তাকবির পড়ার মাধ্যমে মুমিনরা তাঁর মহিমা ও শ্রেষ্ঠত্বের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা প্রকাশ করেন।
এভাবে ঈদের শুভেচ্ছা ও তাকবিরের মাধ্যমে মুসলিম সম্প্রদায় আল্লাহর প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞতা ও ভক্তি প্রকাশ করে এবং পরস্পরের মধ্যে ভ্রাতৃত্ব ও সম্প্রীতি বজায় রাখে।
