@candiceirae asked me to draw the boob-meme-thing with Sevatar, but I quickly realized, that I'm way too lazy to draw him five times. Plus I'm really bad at fashion (as I am demonstrating with every "Lucius in a horrible t-shirt"-pic).

So I started writing an OC to be the Legion Master of the Eighth Legion(because we got some key scenes with Anrek in the final chapter of Hieroglyphs) and. Oh no.
I like him. I really shouldn't like him but. He's. Kind of smooth(???)?
His designated vibe(that's how I create OCs, shush) is 'Mycroft Holmes but like an undead vulture' and. It kind of works???
He has a real urban cryptid feel to him, I dunno.

I've got a possum-shirt with "let's eat trash and get hit by a car" on it and I thought the world needed a Night Lords-shirt.

Which character is your favorite to draw (other than Lucius because we al know he’s your favorite ahahhah)
Most people dislike Night Lords, because they think they look ugly and they smell horribly with all the garbage they are eating. But did you know that the average fully grown Night Lords devours his own bodyweight in enemies of the Imperium every season?
(I just wanted to draw Curze looking like an opossum, the tick-story then practically wrote itself)
And about your question .. well, since OCs don't count (in that case Gal Vorbak-kun would be my favourite, I guess. Tied with Vispyrtilo. But Noise Marine-chan also has such nice stories to draw), it's difficult. I like drawing strong expressions. So it has to be a very emotional character. Lorgar and Fulgrim both are good candidates. But they are tedious to draw with either all the limbs or all the tattoos.
I like drawing Curze, too, because he has an interesting emotional range. Desperation to disgust and a lot of anger. So he's the polar opposite to the blissful and/or devoted characters.
I think the correct answer to your question is: There is no other clear favourite, it's whoever I'm in the mood for. Fortunately the Warhammer-verse has such a broad roster of interesting characters to chose from. One or more for every mood. 😊
Aaaand - Night Lords don't get rabies!
Yes, I think an opossum would be a way cooler mascot for the eighth than a bat. Bats are overdone. Opossums are cool, useful, underestimated and wear gothy fingerless gloves. It doesn't get more Night Lord than this! And they scream at each other and the world.
Now I'm imagining Curze carrying a load of his sons on his back, constantly losing one.

Shang seems to be mostly overshadowed by Sevatar when it comes to strategic decisions and leadership of the Eighth Legion (let's face it - Curze has no interest in management or strategy), seeing his role as a hinge between the Captains (and the Atramentar) and the Primarch, which seems to mostly amount to the role of translator.
Since he is clearly less sociopathic than Sevatar, but also has significantly less charismatic entertainer qualities, he cannot prevent the breaking up of the Eighth.
