Quick one this week; the Heroquest monk two pack.
Bought this on a whim and was blown away by the beautiful presentation of the set - absolutely fantastic!
I'm particularly happy with how the muscles turned out; I usually paint super soldiers in full armour or skeletons so it was a rare treat to paint something more "normal" ๐คฃ
Thatโs Louis Rossman, a repair technician and YouTuber, who went viral recently for railing against Apple. Apple purposely charges a lot for repairs and you either have to pay up or buy a new device. Thatโs because Apple withholds necessary tools and information from outside repair shops. And to think, we were just so close to change.

This guy inspired me to repair my own macbook. First of all, you should know that I am notโฆ like, I have to look up HOW to look up what my computer specifications are. Tech, that ware either soft or hard, is not a subject in which I experience comfort or competence. But my puppy peed on my keyboard, and I asked the apple store, or the fucking mac cafe, or the godsdamn Computer House Chill Zone or whatever cute ass name they have for their bullshit store, and they said it would be TWELVE HUNDRED DOLLARS TO REPLACE MY KEYBOARD. Iโm not even exaggerating.
So I asked the internet, well how hard IS it to repair? And I saw this guyโs video, and while I am no techie, I AM fueled by spite, so I was allย โoh, they do that shit on purpose specifically so they can charge me $1200 bucks or make me buy a new computer hunh? FUCK THEMโ and I bought all the tools I needed for about $25 and I bought all the parts I needed for about another $25 and I watched a few tutorial videos, and I replaced my own keyboard.
So, once you are doing the actual deed, it becomes pretty obvious that they are finding creative ways to make this much harder than it has to be on purpose. On thing that stood out to me is, instead of all the tiny screws being the same size, there are about two dozen very slightly different sizes. They could easily be all the same size, or like, two sizes at most, but no.
These mother fuckers will take a panel that screws into place and theyโll use a different size screw for each corner. They are so close that you almost cannot tell them apart visually, but they each will only screw into the matching corner. Like, itโs a pretty clear โfuck youโ to anyone trying to do repairs.
anyway, this guy is also fueled by spite, and doing holy work, and I have mad respect

I Fixit is actually how I repaired my dadโs old iphone 12 and then claimed it as my own!
ifixit also makes kits and instruction for nearly every part for consoles, computers, phones, tablets, just about anything. Weโve replaced multiple parts on our old 3Dses at this point. Itโs not nearly as hard as you might assume and very worth it to learn how to repair your own electronics.

Found the Warhammer character encyclopaedia in a sale and it came with a Titus miniature - absolutely HAD to treat myself ๐ luckily, I had a spare helmet from a previous mini that's allowed me to make him even more game accurate ๐
Really working on my highlights and shadows; six different blues went into this ๐คฃ

Picked this mini up and wanted to work on my highlights and shadows. Used a few different greys alongside the white on the spider to add shadowing (I think it worked particularly well on the abs) and added lots of blue onto the black for some 90's highlights ๐
Overall, happy with it ๐ definitely some lessons learnt for next time!

Added three Iron Warrior Legionnaires to my completed units ๐
These three all had some damage so I got them sorted together (one had a fucked up hand on the sprue and the other two got damaged when I was drilling their gun barrels). I've done my best to cover the damage in all three cases ๐ ๐คฃ
Really enjoying how this colour scheme is turning out across the different units ๐
Thanks to the very kind words my World Eaters "helmet" garnered across my channels, I decided to paint the first of the Khorne Berzerkers as a way to celebrate ๐
Added some green stuff and neon paint to really make his plasma pistol pop ๐

While I'm doing the Defiler as an Iron Warrior unit (naturally), I wanted to take advantage of the range of "face" options that came with the model and give each of the nine traitor legions a design ๐
Fun, quick and varied little project!
Reign of Iron officially begins with the completion of my fourth legion Aspiring Champion armed with a plasma pistol and power fist ๐
Love the colour scheme on these guys; stripped back and "industrial" is a much cooler aesthetic than some of the other legions.
Very glad the Iron Warriors are getting some love in 40k - now I just need some siege weapons ๐๐คฃ

Definitely learned new techniques from this project and honed some skills. There are key lessons I can take away as well so good overall ๐
