I recently saw a TikTok post of someone being like the safe space/house of their neighbourhood, which — when i get older— is something i aim to be! (If i could ever afford a house.)
I’ve been thinking about this for a while and can make many posts about it maybe 🤔…
TF141 x Neighborhood safe space baker
The 141 had always made comments of possibly moving in together, but they had never really taken action towards actually doing it.
Then Soap got hurt.
After that the idea of possibly moving in together seemed like something that they all really wanted to do. In part because of the fact that they all wanted to be around and care for Soap when they could and also in part that they all realized how much they just really didn’t want to be apart for longer than they needed too.
They moved into a pretty nice neighbourhood not an area that they would’ve expected to move in at first — all of them would’ve preferred to live more off the grid if you asked them — but they wanted to be fairly close to a hospital for Soaps sake. Which Soap scolded them for, even though they were partially right — maybe a bit too cautious, but only because they really cared.
They had lived in the area for a couple of years a that point and had become known in the neighbourhood from helping out and being well … hot.
With Soap being the one who stayed at the house the most, with him being talkative and ex military the kids in the neighbourhood grew to adore him.
Soap was always happy to share any stories— that he was allowed too— with any of the younger people in the neighbourhood.
There was a house right next to them that had been vacant for a while — well until you moved into it. The neighborhood was pretty wary of you, a single woman moving in all alone and living alone.
Soap, who was all alone since the rest of everyone was on a mission at that day didn’t even hesitate to extend hospitality towards you.
He let you settle in on the first day, but on the second he introduced himself.
He knocked on your front door and you came out looking fairly dishevelled, “Uh— hi?”
Soap grinned, “Hello! I’m your next door neighbour, Johnny, I live in the grey house next door with a couple of ma’ other mates!”
You were still tired out of your mind from moving and replied, “oh that’s nice-“
Soap still kept his grin on his face when he apologized, “Sorry i forgot how exhausting moving is— if you ever need help with stuff in your house you can always ask me and ma' mates!”
You smiled softly, “Oh thank you, that’s very kind, i’ll make sure to keep it in mind!”
You were a little scared moving into this neighbourhood originally so you were glad that your neighbour was so kind.
After it seemed like Soap had been accepted you into the neighbourhood the rest of the neighbourhood started to accept you more.
What really made everyone else like you was your baking skills.
They smelt spectacular.
You had been living at your new place for around a month and you and Soap had really started to take a liking to each other. On top of him being at your house often whenever he would leave it he would leave with some baked goods.
Some of the kids in the neighbourhood really wanted to ask to see if you’d give any. They thought that if Soap was over so much you might be cool enough that you’d give them some.
Their little group decided to dare someone in it to knock on your door and ask you for a baked good while the others stood back waiting.
You were so happy that they came to ask, you loved to share whatever you made. When the one kid came up to ask you for some you gave him what you were baking plus extras you had made that were in the fridge for the rest of his friends.
Kids would start knocking on your door everyday to see the new thing that you had recently made. After a while some parents of the kids came to talk to you, your immediate thought was —oh shit am i in trouble— thankfully, you weren’t. They had just tried some of your baking after some of their kids brought it home and were wondering if they could also have some.
Some kids even started staying on your porch talking about things with you. Eventually you started leaving your door open for them to grab anything you’d made and sometimes they’d help you bake stuff.
Your house eventually became THE house that kids loved fooling around at. It had snacks and it also had Soap in it often.
You still haven’t seen the people that he lived with, but you never pressed for more details about his life than he would give.
Idk if i should change it and just make it Soap x reader or make another chapter were reader meets the rest of the 141, ugghhhhh idk i have so many ideas brewing💃💃
I had what i think is a better idea where you lived in the neighbourhood first and your neighbours are fairly protective of you due to your constant kindness or wtv so when the 141 moves in next door to you and your neighbours are more than a little wary of them when they start talking to you often
