It had been a few weeks since the incident with 'Spinel,' but only days since Pearl had finally learned the full extent of what happened. It was....difficult to imagine Rose abandoning someone like that, but Steven insisted that was what happened. And if that was true...how much more didn't she know about Rose.
She tried not to dwell on it.
She went on a walk to clear her head, but it turned out that time alone with her thoughts only made it more difficult to stop thinking about. After a bit of wandering, Pearl found herself at the spring where so many corrupted Gems had been healed thanks to the Diamonds, and of course, Steven. It was fairly empty now though, so Pearl sometimes found herself staring at the serenely still water. It was...calming.
Wait.
Was...was there someone in there? It looked like some sort of pink Gem. As Pearl moved closer, but it was no good, the Gem's back was turned. She could make out a long white dress and long pink hair though (which certainly was not helping her focus her thoughts away from Rose), but otherwise she couldn't really tell who it might be. Finally, once she was near enough to be in earshot, she called out to them.
"Hello? Are you alright?"
