The plot twist is that Sun won't get his great-grandpa's island back because he'll have spent it all on his hospital bills.

So, now that we know Sun's motivation, I have to ask: why does he need to get the money so quickly? Sure, it's for his great-grandfather, but he got really angry at Hala in chapter 8 for making him do the island challenge. But then I remembered that Moon is also on a time crunch to save a dying Piplup. So either Sun has a time limit to get the money, or his great-grandfather may be in a similar situation to Piplup. I mean, the guy would be pretty old at this point, right?

At least the developers stopped installing fully-functioning AIs into those things out of mercy. Still can’t believe how good the programming was back in the late 90s that the first one was a full-blown tsundere.

In SM, you can go into restaurants and eat what is explicitly stated to be meat. There's only two kinds of creatures where that meat could come from and I don't think cannibalism is a thing here. So...

I suppose another thing that threw me off was that there are certain Pokemon you can harvest meat from without actually killing them (Slowpoke and Crabrawler) and I might’ve kinda assumed…

And like I said, adaptions tend to shy away from the issue altogether, so yeah, it’s still a bit of an eye popper when Sun talks about how good a meal grilled Wishiwashi might be.
