Notes: This fic is beautifully written and atmospheric. I love the descriptions of Doriath’s woods, or the image of Nellas picking up a handful of snow and letting it scatter on the wind. I like Nienor here, hopeful and stubbornly determined, and the way Nellas (who has her own secrets) can feel fate closing in.

SO GUYS. If you're following me, that probably means you have developed a healthy appreciation for Nargothrond polyshipping and all the various permutations of it, yes? (If not, go dig through my tags, I'll wait XD)

Anyway, the point is, I would like to take the time here to rec to you all the above fic, Only Ourselves Remain, by Marchwriter. It features (pre-Nirnaeth!) Beleg and Gwindor, with beautiful, excellent characterisation and struggles for the pair of them, and lovely atmospheric prose that creates such a great, dangerous, bleak, almost suffocating presence of you as the reader within the characters' situation. (Of course, it has since convinced me to ship them, but what else is new.) No exaggeration, it's absolutely in my top few favourite fics that have come out of the SinS fics this year.
