wreck my plans (that's my man)
Fake dating turns into a fake engagement, which then snowballs into a fake (almost) wedding.
AN: I'd like to thank Trini for making this event happen! Storm @enthyrea my wonderful, talented friend, thank you for your wonderful art! And @honestlydarkprincess @tkstrrand and @beausimpsonsdarling for reading this over and helping me freak out about posting it just a little less lol
"I need you to be my date to a wedding."
Bradley chokes on his beer. It takes a second, but when he's finally able to breathe, he stares up at Jake Seresin, confused. "What?"
Jake rolls his eyes, sighs like Bradley is being unreasonable. "I need you to be my date to a wedding," he repeats slowly, like Bradley's an idiot.
Bradley narrows his eyes at him, trying to figure out if this is one of Seresin's infamous pranks. "Not interested."
Jake huffs, sits opposite him. They stare at each other, and Bradley realises Jake isn't joking. "You're serious."
Jake leans back in his seat, steals Bradley's beer and takes a sip even as Bradley protests and tries to steal it back.
"You gonna give me an answer, Rooster?"
He's still trying to process the request. "You hate me," he reminds him.
"I do," Jake agrees casually, "so?"
"So-?” he asks incredulously, “are you out of your mind?!"
"Probably," is Jake's quick response, taking yet another sip of Bradley's drink. Jake's eyes are two pools of green, and frustrating emptiness. "So, you'll do it."
It should be a question. It's not.
This only serves to aggravate Bradley even more.
"We're leaving the day after tomorrow," Jake informs him, after a lengthy silence which Jake obviously takes as agreement but is actually Bradley's brain unable to process the sheer audacity of Jake assuming he can just come here and tell Bradley what to do. "Pack for a week, and there better be none of those ugly Hawaiian shirts of yours."
He plans on saying no. "What do I get out of it?" he says instead, because he's an idiot, and he's tipsy.

been you all along, part 5
Part 4, Part 3, Part 2, Part 1.
Somehow, in a truly horrifying twist of fate, Bradley's mortal enemy became his daughter's favorite person.
Or, Five times Jake was his daughter's favorite person, and the one time he was Bradley's too.
AN: Just one more chapter to go! Thank you all so much for the love, I really really appreciate it all so much.
《5》
Bradley paces the living room, back and forth, back and forth, for the better part of an hour. In his arms is his little girl, who's clinging to his neck and crying quietly. He can do nothing more than hold her as she's hurting and it makes him feel like a failure.
His eyes dart over to the clock.
3:07 AM.
That means it's been exactly thirty minutes since he gave her the Tylenol. He walks over to the kitchen counter, grabs the thermometer and prepares for a fight, because if there's one thing his daughter hates more than anything, it's getting her temperature taken.
His first clue that something is seriously wrong is when she does nothing more than whine quietly when he puts the thermometer in her mouth. His second is the flashing red screen that reads; 103.4.
.
Ice and Sarah are out of town, and so are Mav and Penny. Bradley can take a cab or an uber, but hospital procedures and paperwork- God, the paperwork- don't mix well with taking care of a kid.
He needs help.
And the first person that comes to mind after his godparents is, surprisingly, Jake Sersin.

《2》
Their paths cross again two years later, in a bar close to where they're both stationed. Hangman's undeservingly passive aggressive, and as cocksure and smug as ever. Bradley gives as good as he gets, but somewhere in the back of his head, there's a memory of his three months old daughter in Hangman's arms, and it makes it impossible to do anything more than bite his tongue and avoid him for the rest of the night.
.
Weeks go by, and things with Hangman go from passive aggressive to downright hostile. He's so goddamn angry he can't see straight, so he heads to a diner, orders a coffee and does his best to calm down before he goes to pick up Caroline.
All his efforts are wasted, though, because once he gets to Ice's house, he finds none other than Jake fucking Seresin playing with the kids- particularly, his kid.
A hand on his chest is the only thing that stops him from stomping over there and ripping his daughter out of the other man's arms.
WIP Wednesday
Tagged by @liminalmemories21 🤍 I have too many WIPs, so i'm sharing snippets from one fic for each fandom lol.
Buddie- Zombie AU
Eddie holds his breath, watches as the man startles at the sight of Chris by his side, then he crouches down to his height, smiles, big and soft and too beautiful for this ugly world they live in and- Eddie is definitely in trouble. Christopher leans closer to the man, and Buck seems to be listening intently, then speaks. He's obviously enthusiastic, gesturing widely with his hands as he speaks. Christopher (and Eddie) is mesmerized.
"How'd you find us?" Maddie asks, eyes squeezed shut. Eddie shakes himself out of the trance.
"I didn't," he tells her, cracks a small smile, "your brother and I just happened to be robbing the same convince store at the same time."
Tarlos- Social Worker AU (this isn't smut, but it IS a makeout lol)
The first time he kissed TK, Carlos was drunk on love and not much else.
It was probably too soon, but somehow, in the span of a month, he'd fallen in love, and it was with a man who seemed to have no interest in a relationship.
"Hey, hey, slow down," he laughed as TK ripped open his shirt, buttons flying everywhere, and wasted no time in kissing his neck, down his chest, and lower still.
Hangster (Fake Dating AU)
"So? Did she give you the shovel talk?" "She did." "Did she ask about the wedding?" "No." "When is the wedding?" Bradley stares at him. "What?" "Do you want to get fake married, too?" Jake just grins.

many happy returns [on AO3]
Jake's birthday is a little (a lot) different this year.
Jake wakes up to a cold, empty bed, and a silent apartment. He blinks at the ceiling, frowns as he tries to remember if Bradley has told him anything about their plans for the day, but comes up empty.
Jake rubs the remnants of sleep from his eyes and grabs his phone. The first thing his eyes land on is the time. 7:36 AM is too early to be awake on his day off, he thinks mournfully, then sees the date and freezes. It's the 24th. Which happens to be his birthday. Dread pools in the pit of his stomach, but he pushes it aside and unlocks his phone. There are a couple of texts from hi friends back home, and about a dozen on the Daggers' group chat.
His mother has sent him a heartfelt voice message, and his sister a video of her, Daniel and the kids singing him happy birthday. There's nothing from his father, or his older brother, which he's thankful for.
There's nothing from Bradley, either. It doesn't bother Jake all that much, but it does make him suspicious. He gets out of bed, pads over to the bathroom, and once he's done, he heads to Caroline's bedroom, which he finds to be empty.

"Admiral Seresin," the man behind the camera says, and Jake's heart sinks right down to his toes, "you have exactly 48 hours to give us back our money, and our shipment, or your son dies."
Kidnapped Jake, Idiots in Love, getting back together.
flames look beautiful (if you forget what they can do) [8.3k]
Bradley does as he's told, as painful as it is, and his vision clears somewhat. Jake's crouched beside him, concern etched on his face, and what happened comes back to him in flashes. The mission going sideways at every possible turn, seeing Jake's plane get shot down in the sky, the less than smooth emergency landing in the woods that followed.
Hurt and protective Hangster, exes to lovers.
