The King’s Guard did not attack, instead pushing against the wall of the room. Anxious, Val backed closer to Jace.

Then, he appeared. Stalking into the room with the rage and prowess of a Dragon itself, Aemond rounded the painted table. Valrhya shuddered, overwhelmed by the force of his stare. She felt his anger in the deepest reaches within her, a part of her begging to submit already. 

Time slowed as he approached her, the tension threatening to swallow her whole. Her husband, by the very rights Jace was, sword raised and pointed at her throat. She couldn’t breathe as she faced him, memory upon memory shoving themselves into her mind. He finally stopped, only a few feet away from her, and she felt the cold steel kiss just above her clavicle. 

Something snapped, and Jace lept for Aemond. The clanging of metal brought Valrhya back to attention. Their swords were crossed right above her heart. 

“Grab him,” Aemond ordered, pushing the Prince back into the hold of three King’s Guard. Valrhya flinched as they forced Jace into a kneel. Raising her daggers, she started for her Prince. 

“I think not,” Aemond suddenly growled, yanking her backward. She gasped as he wrapped a hand around her throat, thrusting her back against his chest. She fought him, but it was no use. She cursed herself as he knocked the daggers from her hands, using his other arm to hold her across the waist. He’d taken her by surprise, knocked her completely off her guard. And, now, she was useless against him. 

“Let go of me--Jace!” Valrhya spluttered, trying to twist out of Aemond’s hold. It only angered the Targaryen Prince further, his grip on her throat tightening.

“How lovely to see you again, wife,” He hissed. Val stilled as the sound settled in her bones. "Time to come home."
