As I walked my bike around a turn, I lost some control, and the bike started to get away from me. I caught it just in time. However, the fingers on my right hand were mistakenly covering my front brake (DO NOT DO THIS) and they slipped, resulting in a whiskey throttle (rolling on the throttle the whole way).
My feet dragged across the parking lot and I was 15 feet away from crashing into my roommate and her car. Luckily, I pulled in the clutch and let go of the throttle, but did not know how to properly operate the brakes yet.
When I came to a stop, I was too short/in shock/inexperienced to think to let go of the bike or even balance with one leg, so I brought the bike down with me as I hyperextended my left arm and flat palmed, dislocating my elbow on impact.
From what I’ve been told, I hit my head off of the ground just from frustration and being in pain, so my helmet has some scratches on it. It was difficult to take my jacket off and my boy kept trying to get my helmet off and I kept saying, “No it’s my elbow no no no it’s my elbow”, which is hilarious now. Hahah. :D
