To say that the last 4 months have been extraordinary would be a gross understatement. It’s hard to explain why or how we got into disaster relief. It was never the plan. But sometimes in life there are events that can either be considered a speed bump or a jump start and it’s really up to you how you embrace it. We were tired of sitting by and asking each other how to help. Tired of saying “I wish there was something we could do”. We set out to do a tiny thing to help a few folks, not knowing it would be the most selfish thing we ever did. Selfish because of the way it makes you feel. It’s a drug of the best kind. A drug that I wish all of humanity would wake up and find themselves addicted to. There’s no judgement, no politics, no race, sex, or religion. It’s a deep dark wormhole of people just helping people. It’s an amazing thing that is really hard to explain. I don’t like it when people say “thank you” or when folks say “it’s an incredible”. Why is it extraordinary? It should t be. It should be the norm. I’m just doing, we’re just doing, what we would want folks to do for us. Just people helping people. It’s pretty simple in the end.
