Only in #LasVegas can you see stuff like this, and it was captured just outside the #ElCortezLV in #DowntownLasVegas - right near the #FremontStreetExperience. Unlike Albuquerque, I feel like #LasVegas is a much safer town because you don’t have tweakers outside your hotel room all night! ‘‘Twas my experience in ABQ. #ElCortez is the perfect location to stay when in #Vegas because it’s the only hotel, that I know of, where you can park below your hotel room! :) (at El Cortez)

“FEAR NO FATE”

Featuring a showgirl lifted straight out of a booming post-WW2 1950’s Las Vegas cabaret, when Hollywood stars started to show up and gambling ceased to be the only game in town, Tristan Eaton’s work beautifully revives memories of years gone by. A building boom on the Strip was just beginning to pull the spotlight from Downtown and the glamor of the Rat Pack’s Vegas was accompanied by countless heartbreaks, adventures, sins, and celebrations. With the Life Is Beautiful Festival adding new energy to the renewal efforts in Downtown Las Vegas, Eaton’s 2016 mural on the El Cortez Hotel and Casino parking lot at Fremont and 7th Streets sets a new standard for integrating art into the urban landscape of the city.  @tristaneaton​  @lifeisbeautiful​  @downtownlv  @elcortezlv

“Visions Through Time” (available at www.thelucidnap.com- click the link in my bio) This piece was inspired by the now defunct Sky Room cocktail lounge in the El Cortez Hotel (now an apartment complex) in Downtown San Diego. The hotel was a thriving hot spot, but as so many old buildings do, fell into disrepair. Thankfully today, it’s been lovingly renovated and refurbished into luxury condominiums!
