WE'RE DOING IT AGAIN CHUCKLE-FUCKS!
So Spaz did the thing again, now you must all suffer for it. This time it's Elden Ring flavored!
Pings bc I won't suffer by myself gogdamnit: @polarspaz @laf-e-taffy @okamishimada18 @thesmi1ingcheshire @quasar-crew @sonicasura @foxy-tea @drakeflight
ALRIGHT HERE WE FUCKING GO WITH YET ANOTHER SERIES I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT
So, because I'm the way I am, there're a few new additions to the chaos: Rebecca, Carlos, Ashley, Grace, and Ethan. The first four because they're connected to Leon, and thus get dragged along like the others. While Ethan is here straight-up because of his death (yes I know he's in that weird mold nexus, but ffs he still counts!)
Leon gets isekai'd into the Lands Between after the RE9 bad ending, however instead of it being a god who brings him over, it's Rani herself… kinda
The blue witch was searching for a powerful fighter to aid her in her quest against the Greater Will, however this wasn't going well. As even the Tarnished weren't successful.
Running out of options (and hope), Rani prays to the moon she gets her power from, and it answers.
The moon god finds Leon's soul and deems him a perfect choice, sending him off to the Lands Between. The issue is: this god wasn't careful with how it did this. Which leads to the people connected to Leon getting dragged along for the ride, including those who have died.
After meeting Rani, she realizes "oh shit, I might've fucked up" and offers to help Leon get home.
There's a problem though: crossing worlds takes a lot of power, which is why only gods can normally do it. So, she offers him a deal: help her gather the shards of the Elden Ring, and she'll help him get home.
Leon doesn't exactly trust her at first, especially when he figures out what her true goal is, and that she was partially responsible for him being here at all. However, he warms up to her as they travel, realizing that - while she is doing this for selfish reasons - Rani never wanted something like this to happen.
Just like in Spaz's au, Leon's infection acts more like a curse. Although an interesting benefit to it is that he's actually immune to the Scarlet Rot, as are the others suffering from RCS.
The group's biological clocks are kicked back by about 20 years, except for the people who died, or are still actively in their prime. So, the entire party is in their 20s-30s depending on the person.
Que the group being extremely confused and weirded out, and when asked Rani just goes "I have no clue how this happened"
They don't know what'll happen to the dead trio once they get sent back; the most pragmatic theory being that they'll just... die again.
That doesn't happen, for the record. The moon god rewards the RE cast by sending them back in their younger forms (it thinks that's a fitting prize, seeing as humans always seem to be hunting for eternal youth. So why not give this lot theirs back?), and the three dead men walking are back amongst the living. It also cures them of RCS, mainly because it can foresee the suffering that the disease could cause (and well, what would be the point in reviving/rejuvenating them if they'll just keel over?)
Zeno gets his ass rocked by a suddenly way younger Leon, along with his very big found family.
Now! Onto something else: armor and weapons! Me and Foxy spent hours researching FF14, Monster Hunter, and Kamen Rider armors and I'm not letting that shit got to waste damnit! So, in order of game appearance, we have:
Chris Redfield: The boulder puncher himself. The armor I'm going with is...
Radobaan! It's big and bulky, which fits his general tank aesthetic. Plus the jokes write themselves, the same could be said for his weapon...
The Brachydios Switch Axe! If you know anything about Monster Hunter, then you'll know that Brachy can blow shit up just by punching it.
...Yeah I'd say that fits Chris pretty well. Brachy's weapons have this same property, which means anything Chris smacks with this big 'ol whacky stick is now a ticking timebomb.
2. Rebecca Chambers: Now Rebecca is interesting, but I think I have something:
Inugami armor! Yeah, I'm pulling from Frontier for this.
Bit of backstory for why I picked this guy: Inugami is a flightless Elder Dragon, its tail being tipped with a large stinger. Instead of holding venom however, this stinger contains a powerful concoction that accelerates the grown of plants. From what I've seen, you fight Inugami in a bamboo forest, so that's what it'll mainly use to attack.
Rebecca would definitely be a mage, focusing on healing and long-ranged spells. Because of that...
Mizutsune Bow! There's really no reasoning for this one, just thought it'd look nice with her.
3. Leon Kennedy: Despite the fact that Spaz already gave Leon some cool armor, I wanted to give him my own spin:
Valstrax armor! There's really no reasoning behind this one, I just wanted him to have something cool. As for weapons...
Leon gets to keep Requiem, although now it shoots blasts of "magic" (dragon energy) instead of bullets.
Aaaaand Xeno'jiva's Sword and Shield. Leon's a Generic Fighter here, so I gave him a basic weapon (no offense S&S mains).
4. Claire Redfield: This one's mainly gonna be Foxy's forte, so I'll just copy-paste what they said here:
"Red Mage is a magic dps that uses a rapier sword and magic focus for their attacks. They use Red magic which is a blend of black and white magic and sword skills. And this is one of the most recent outfits tailored specifically for Red Mage. I just think it'd be funny because Redfield as a Red Mage. But then I remembered you can cause a Fire Explosion or a Holy Light Smite. Or Discord Light theme when pressured enough."
(She uses a smaller version of Legiana's Longsword btw)
This whole thing is heavily based around a class from FF14, although considering the horseshit I'll be pulling, this is nothing.
5. Sherry Birkin: Leon's first daughter! She was extremely easy for me.
Vaal Hazak armor; this one feels a bit mean, but it fits given her status with the G-Virus. Vaal Hazak is another Elder Dragon, one who wears the bones and rotting flesh of dead monsters due to its scales being oddly weak. It has a symbiotic relationship with Affluvium: a flesh-eating bacteria that live within the Rotten Vale (it's just as gross as you're thinking). As for her weapon...
Stygian Oblivia, the Insect Glaive of Stygian Zinogre. This one I also don't have a reason for, sadly.
6. Ada Wong: Okay this one's a bit special:
Yes, that is Kamen Rider Demons. Spider motif go brrr.
Ada actually has two main weapons, mainly because there's no way in hell I'm not giving her a gun:
This is Kamen Rider Diend's gun, mainly picked it to keep up the Rider fun.
Aaaand Lala Barina Dual Blades; these things look wicked af, plus the whole spider motif I set up with her armor.
7. Jill Valentine: I was actually stuck on her for a bit, but Foxy gave me a good idea:
Nargacuga armor! Because of the whole ninja aesthetic, I'd imagine Jill to be a thief/rogue. A sneaky assassin who's also a glass cannon. As for what weapons she'd use:
Gore Magala Dual Blades! You can't tell me Jill wouldn't enjoy beating the shit out of something with these bad boys. As for why I picked Dual Blades: they're probably the most "realistic" weapon type in Monster Hunter, at least on the surface. Plus they're small and easy to carry around.
8. Carlos Oliveira: Carlos! Our underrated king!
He gets the Astalos armor! Mainly because of the green coloring I'll be honest. As for his weapon...
Cerberus Fang! Yeah Carlos gets a gunblade, my guy deserves it.
9. Luis Serra-Navarro: This guy was a no-brainer tbh.
Lunagaron armor! Frankly there's no better pick for someone hailing from the Valley of Wolves, and for his weapon...
Nightseeker Staff! Luis is once again a mage in an Elden Ring au lol.
10. Ashley Graham: Okay Ashley was... difficult but I think I have something.
Espinas armor! I would've picked Rathian considering the connection in their nicknames (Queen of the Land and princess), but that armor doesn't look good. I'll make it up with the weapon though!
Pink Rathian's bow! Ashley doesn't strike me as a close-combat fighter tbh, so I gave her this.
11. Ethan Winters: MOLD MAN!!!! He deserved so much better tbh.
He gets the Brachy armor, and yes, it's for the exact reason you're thinking of. His weapon is...
Don Monstro, Blackveil Vaal Hazak's Great Sword.
12. Grace Ashcroft: My anxiety-ridden mess /pos.
Her armor is a mix of Chameleos' and the Idealized Wicca armor; and if it wasn't already clear, yeah she's another mage.
Her staff is Law's Order, a nice little reference to her actual job in law enforcement.
