alright guys this is some stuff regarding elder bennett and the latest discourse in the fandom

ive spoken directly to one of the sources of the elder bennett phenomenon so im basically just saying what they told me

elder bennett originated from a brazllian production of BoM that yes, uses blackface.

the people in the fandom who started the elder bennett stuff know blackface is bad

also the people who started elder bennett are mostly lgbt so stop calling them homophobic. i honestly dont get why pushing a new character whos elder mckinleys boyfriend is homophobic but whatever this is tumblr

the elder bennett stuff is actually kind of an inside joke. like y’all think they’re taking elder bennett way more seriously than they are.

also elder bennett isnt white and i honestly dont see how its racist to make a non white (practically) OC 

again, the people who “made” him are lgbt, realize blackface is wrong, and are tired of you all getting so bent out of shape over a dumb little thing

also this is kind of unrelated to the elder bennett stuff but if u want the ugandans to have more attention in the fandom then do it? draw naba. write fics about general butt fucking naked. make up complex hcs about the uandans who have like 1 line and dont even have a canon first name. no ones stopping you and sitting around bitching about it doesnt really make any more content of those characters. if you want something done, you gotta do it yourself.

he’s an added elder in the illegal VERY problematic brazillian production of the book of mormon. apparently he’s really gay with mckinley, which obviously gives the fandom the right to discuss him more than any black character that exists in the show’s canon.
