I have an issue with the TV show Charmed, specifically about Chris.
Why is Chris not a twice blessed like Wyatt? If being a twice blessed means you are the child of a whitelighter and a charmed one then wouldn't Chris also be a twice blessed?
In the original timeline Leo was still a whitelighter when Chris was born and then became an elder. So he was born under the same conditions as Wyatt. But in the new timeline Leo was an elder when Chris was conceived so shouldn't he have elder powers? Be more stronger than Wyatt?
Ok you can claim that, in the new timeline, he was conceived in the ghost realm (basically limbo) where Leo and Piper didn't have powers, but then Chris shouldn't have powers at all, but he still does. And you can say 'maybe he got his powers because he was exposed to magic while Piper was pregnant with him' but if that was the case then why does he have whitelighter powers.
The mess they did with Chris is why I believe Wyatt was supposed to be the only kid in the series until the finale. Holly Marie Combs (actress who plays Piper) was pregnant during season 6 so they had to incorporate it into the show. But if Wyatt was the only kid he would be the only one born while Leo was a whitelighter and if Leo was always gonna be human again, so he can live his life with Piper, then any kids they would have would be only witches. We see it in the finale with Melinda who is only a witch because Leo was human when she was conceived. Also Wyatt was supposed to be the 'kid who comes back from the future', but it was changed because the writers thought it would be to obvious and HMC was coincidentally pregnant so yea.
In the original timeline Leo was still a whitelighter and became an elder when Chris was a kid. But in the new timeline Leo is an elder so Chris should have been a twice blessed, maybe even more powerful because he is half elder, but he's not, he's a half witch half whitelighter like Paige (but less powerful because she's a charmed one).
I like to think that Chris is also a twice blessed but no one knows. Imagine in the original timeline he was just as strong as Wyatt but he was never trained like Wyatt was so he's not as powerful. But it would be funny and would give weight to the fan theories of Chris being the leader of a resistance/rebellion because he would be the only one who could go to to toe with Wyatt and not die. It could also be the reason why Wyatt was so desperate to get Chris back to his side because he knows Chris is strong enough to be his equal but Chris doesn't know so it's better to have him by his side then as an enemy.
I like the idea that Chris is Wyatt's equal, someone who can balance him out. Even if they make it so that, while Wyatt is the strongest magic user, Chris is stronger in his whitelighter (now elder) side. This would keep Wyatt as the strongest witch while also making Chris more powerful than the average witch. It could work with Chris being so knowledgeable about the underworld like maybe he could be someone brings order to it. Though his knowledge could be because of him fighting demons all the time in the future, but it also looks like he has that same knowledge in the new timeline so...? But that would be getting close to making him the new leader of the underworld, not necessarily making him the new source of evil. There are some demons and beings that use dark magic that are not evil just like there are good magic users that do bad things Chris could have been the 'leader' of the dark (not evil) magic users. Maybe that was the original plotline of Wyatt coming back to stop Chris from becoming the new source?
It would also make a cool storyline that once Chris is conceived and future Chris reapers he now has more powers that he has to learn to control. We know that if anything that happens to baby Chris also affects future Chris. We see it in S6xEp18 when future Chris becomes a spider demon. Piper drinks the antidote that reverses the demons magic on future Chris. So any changes to the baby would be felt by Chris, so he should have elder powers because Leo is an elder.
Also how was he conceived in the ghost realm (limbo)? When he was flickering in and out of existence he was in limbo and then back in the world of the living so to be alive meant that he would leave limbo, so anything alive (with the exception of Leo and Piper since they were there due to a spell) could not stay there. So how was any kind of life able to be created? How was he conceived in a realm that no living person could be in?
It could have also affected his magic making him have powers that deal with the dead or spirits and stuff. Yea I know I'm pushing for him to have more powers. But he should have been more powerful then what he had, or at least acknowledge the fact that he was half elder. If they had said 'he half elder but we don't know what his powers will be because there has never been anyone like him' I would have accepted it. But they made such a big deal of Wyatt being special and the most powerful because he's the son of a whitelighter and a charmed one, but Chris being the son of an elder and a charmed one was not special? You really gonna tell me he's just a normal half whitelighter half witch?
No, sorry but no.
The writers fumbled with Chris's storyline, which sucks because he's my favorite character. They could have done so much more with him but they just gave up and the few plotlines that involved the kids was always focused on Wyatt.
