I'm still pretty new to pixel art, but I thought a fun project of a manageable size would be producing a pixel edition of a Magic: the Gathering card. While I don't play MtG anymore, I still have a lot of fondness for much of the game, and particularly Dominik Mayer, who has been my favourite MtG artist (and indeed one of my favourite artists period) since his very first round of art on Zendikar Rising. I've somewhat-optimistically numbered this as card 001 - I don't know if I'll do any more of these, but it was very fun, so it's possible!

magic artists consistently create some of the hottest things imaginable when trying to design cosmic antagonists. like the Phyrexians? smoking. Eldrazi? ough. Nicol Bolas? not into men but I've heard things. they just can't stop.

It's like if the Outer Gods from beyond the far reaches of space and time just so happened to look like airbrushed anime girls.
