Drabble #8?

#8: “You’re seriously like a man-child.” and I chose SouHaru because I haven’t written ‘em in forever. I based this on @iskabee‘s art. :>

Sousuke hates the sun. It’s a huge, and very rude, star that has the audacity to make everything he touches way too hot. Can’t walk in the sand, because it’s too hot, and he’s pretty sure he’s got a dozen blisters under his feet. Can barely sit down on his own damn towel in the sand underneath the parasol, because it slowly fries his ass into a crisp.

Haruka just told him that he loves bacon. It took him a while to get that, admittedly.

Makoto and Rin sure don’t seem to be bothered by the sun, though. They’ve been in the water for quite some time now, doing things Sousuke has no interest in. All he hopes is that they’re decent enough to remember there are kids around them.

“Are you just gonna lie here all day?” Haruka asks. Sousuke nods, and Haruka shrugs. “Fine. I’m going to get something to eat, or drink. Or both. You want something?”

“A drink,” is all Sousuke says, and Haruka leaves, but not before making sure Sousuke sees him roll his eyes.

If only Makoto and Rin weren’t so convincing together. They’re already good at talking Sousuke into things on their own, but together, they’re an unstoppable and fearsome force not to be taken lightly. This is why Sousuke’s now stuck on the beach on the hottest day of the year, and he hates everyone and everything as a result.

Haruka returns with a little juice box that he hands over to Sousuke, and Sousuke in turn gives him an incredulous look. That asshole got himself a slice of watermelon, but got Sousuke a juice box meant for kids?

“Haruka.”

“What? All you said you wanted was a drink, and that’s a drink.”

“Why this, though?”

“Because you’re seriously like a man-child today. All you’ve done since we came to the beach is pout and frown. You’re gonna have wrinkles before you turn thirty, and you’ve only got four years until you do.”

“I’m not a man-child,” Sousuke retorts. “I just hate the beach. And I hate people. And I hate that Makoto and Rin manage to drag my sorry ass all over the place.”

Haruka snorts. “Yeah, you’ve always been easy to convince no matter what it’s about. Don’t worry, I don’t think we’ll be here that much longer.”

It isn’t until two painfully long hours later that the four of them leave the beach. The following day, Sousuke is as red as a crayfish, and it hurts to do just about everything. No matter what he does, he always has to suffer.

Dating Haruka can be a wild ride in and of itself, but being friends with Makoto and Rin is mostly just pure suffering.

... he really just needs to learn how to say no to them.

I'd love to see [kind of opposite the hair-grooming pic in the ending theme] Yuuri braiding Viktor's hair (esp. if Viktor grew it out long again?!?). Ughhh if these two don't kill me with all the domestic fluff feels...

Oh my god I never thought of that *heart eyes* ooohhhhh goshhhhh. Ugh. I’m just so in love with them. I love the other elements of yoi as well- the sport, the costumes, the music, everything. But the relationship between Viktor and Yuuri is so soft and pleasant and it makes me feel things asjrnfargha ahhhhhh I wonder if Yuuri would be good at braiding hair? Oh man....I can see him just being touchy feely with it because it’s so silky and soft and he can’t stop himself (and who the heck could blame him, honestly...)

Tbh it took me until episode 3 to even start shipping them but now....I just... *sobs* they’re so sweet on each other and it is Pure and Good

I'm reminded every now and then that you speak so many languages, it's kind of amazing!! Do you have any particular methods you use to pick up new languages? Do you take courses or tutoring, or watch a lot of shows in the language as you're learning it?

oh, thank you! well, languages have always kind of been part of my life, to put it in a weird way. mostly because of school, since we learn english from second grade here in sweden as part of compulsory education, and from grade 5 and for about eight more years (until you can choose to study further at university), you get to study another language, usually choosing between german, spanish or french. some schools also offer chinese, russian and other languages, though. i took spanish for eight years (but i rarely use it nowadays and have forgotten a lot of it :( )

besides having a knack for learning languages, it’s also just out of pure interest; i started learning japanese four years ago because i like the language (and because i got into anime again, haha), and i took classes for a year and have been studying on my own otherwise using several websites. i also watch anime without subs for the most part to not rely on them too much, and i read manga raw as well.

(i had a maths teacher in eighth grade who told me people who suck at maths are generally proficient in learning languages. i am shit when it comes to maths. that might explain a thing or two, haha.)

Seriously hope that the problem transaction with Eldurwen doesn't read as a 'how to get out of a sale' for others with clear buyers remorse. Playing the potential recast card isn't cool. I don't care if it was amicably resolved, that was low.
