I bought a rechargeable electric lighter.

No wasteful disposable lighters for me no more!

I have an electric lighter. I don’t need gas, matches, or anything but electricity to light a candle. It’s rechargeable and I love it. The only thing about it is, I don’t feel comfortable using it to light my candles and it can’t light my incense sticks. So what do I do?

I use tea lights. I have a tea light candle holder that I keep on my altar as I’m working. It is the first thing I light when I’m ready to start working. I use the tea light to light my candle, my incense stick, and to symbolize the fire element if I need it to. I also snuff it out and use the melted wax to coat my cork to plug my spell jars. It’s a lot less messy than using my candlestick to seal my jar, though I can generally switch between the two methods. Traditionally, I’ll seal with my candlestick, but if I don’t want it to get messy, I’ll use the tea light wax to seal.

I have a ton of tea lights and I don’t particularly want to use them for my general spell work because they aren’t very good for dripping wax without burning yourself.

I know a lot of witches would rather use matches or something more natural for their witchcraft, but I don’t like the smell of lit matches and I also get scared when trying to light them. Plus I have a lot of candles in jars and matches scare me lol. I found it on Amazon after watching a TikTok and I thought it was a lot better than having to buy lighters and matches all the time.

I love my electric lighter and I’m not going back to matches and gas lighters ever again.
