New question (I got to it because tbh I was trying my best to figure out what's the Christmas song you were mentioning 😅).

Suppose someone takes the melody from a song(with lyrics), makes it more symphonic but completely changes the lyrics(well except some temporal placements but still 😅). Does it count as a cover or not? 😁

Uhhhh..... Not really sure. Most of them were pretty much the same and a lot of them blended together.

Gather the Daughters by Jennie Melamed.

It's dark and has lots of trigger warnings, but it's very interesting and I found it incredibly intriguing.

OK so I have an idea for a bonus tournament next year. (Totally objective idea with no ulterior motives whatsoever 😅). But what about a collab tournament? Like symphonic/power metal songs with guests artists basically. And of course we cap it like we did with the cover one so we don't make this a Hansi side tournament lol

Since we allowed covers that got pretty far in their own bands' tournament in the cover tournament I can assume we're gonna do the opposite too if it comes to that right? Like allowing songs that were in the cover tournament in their own tournaments if those happen and the songs get submitted again?

Yes, absolutely! This cover tournament is a bonus tournament, so the winner won't be competing in the final one. So all these songs deserve another chance for their own artist brackets!

Bad timing I know but Within Temptation will release a new song on the 16th of May:). Soooo assuming they will have a YouTube link by then, will the song be open for submission?

Of course! You know what, I'll give you two more days than I originally planned to submit songs, so you can listen to the new song for a bit more to decide whether you want to submit it. So submissions will be open until the 20th!
