I probably should have checked to see if I already had a null modem cable before buying two of them. I definitely have at least one DE-9 F/F cable, but I don't know if it's null modem cable, and that wouldn't have been terribly difficult to check.
Oh well. Can't have too many serial cables. One thing I'm definitely lacking in, is serial cables.
I do have a DE-9 riser though! I can connect up the onboard serial in my secondary workstation, which is also the head of my compute cluster. The ability to connect serial devices directly to my compute cluster would be pretty neat. Especially a particular piece of test equipment that may, or may not, be currently sitting on the table.

I have ordered another analog oscilloscope. But this one is special.
