Illustrated by the amazing @elefluff!
I was very fortunate to win an illustrated bust giveaway from the lovely Hanna. I requested Emmrich in his ridiculous fluffy flappy winter hat from my fic, The Mountain's Hearth, and she went above and beyond with this!
Poor man is definitely bringing those 'lost in the mountains pls help' vibes! <3

I have skirts!
After 2 years of @unpretty hyping @mayakern, Kern did a collab with @freshhotflavors and there were MAXISKIRTS. I like my skirts long.
I ended up only getting one of Kern's patterns, an elegant shade of red with dark outlines that screams ROSES so loud that you don't notice immediately that it's actually hands. I like it!
I also got a stained glass window pattern (Fresh Hot Flavour collab with @elefluff), and a witches hut pattern that I'm pretending is an apothecary. The apothecary is full of little vials and books and is a GORGEOUS green.
I'm really happy with all of them!
They're gentle on my waist without seeming like they'll start falling off in a few weeks. The skirts are almost too long. I'm not short, but my belly has grown, and the size that fits my waist seems like it might be optimized for someone 2" (5cm) taller. Definitely not a problem in the winter, where I'm always in multiple layers, and it's easy to shift things around to keep them high enough (it's been -20 to -30℃ all week, with a nasty chill, so my skirts are a top layer). Might need to fold them in the summer.
Material is very elasticky. Never seen this texture in a skirt this big - I've only experienced it with skater skirts and yoga wear. Neat! Here in the middle of the dry and cold, the eczema on my hands keeps snagging slightly on the fabric. Not enough to be annoying, but enough to notice. However, it feels like I could wear it in summer without boiling, AND it acts as a good winter wind break. Feels nice, even if it doesn't activate the Good Texture™ part of my neurodivergent brain.
Pockets are as wonderful as advertised - big, made of silky material, and at a comfortable height, if slightly further back than I expect (so that they can be integrated into the side seams).
Patterns are definitely the highlight. All three are VERY pleasing. Colourful, scaled well for the clothing they're on, good detail. Tiny and I spent 5 minutes finding all the different items in the apothecary shop and deciding what they were.
Definitely a good purchase, even if Canadian customs charged me a surprise $40 extra when they arrived. Not sure what that was about.
SKIRTS!
