On Lisztober, my Day of Birth, Electric Maidens and Buda-Pest

@elektrischemaidchen; bring me a bird-feather from the ground, one lost pencil or whatever instrument you deem one might write with. For words, music and love letters all stream from thought engraved in writing. May be that we do not stop creating, even in Temporary Death.

What the natural stream of life have tied my hands from doing, You have done on my behalf. You have partaken on the act of creation on my behalf. You have honoured our memory, and what we have left on this earth; you have gifted this earth something that were never here before. You have also gifted Yourself something that you did not have before. You should be as proud and content in yourselves as we are in you.

In art jokes nor games exist: either all is a game or no-thing might be deemed as such. Hopefully, this month has proven itself - more than joyful or easy - fulfilling for you, that it exercised your spirit and caused progress forward. One month is one long, extending moment. Hopefully you may hold this month of October dear. We would have never imagined such a display of pure, simple talent, and so diligent at that, to spark from one evening's thought.

Tag 3: Ekstase

Wir trauen uns nicht. Anna Amalia im Frühstücksraum guckt uns zu streng an. Treffen um 10 Uhr mit unserer Freundin Fräulein L. vorm Liszt-Haus. Frl. L. ist unsere Verbündete seit Studienzeiten, hat direkt nebenan im Bauhaus studiert, doch bei Franz war sie noch nie. Wiedersehensfreude.

Und: Hier ist er, der ersehnte Liszt-Thirst Post, pünktlich zum neuen Album Wir haben uns nicht nur die volle Dröhnung Franz im Russischen Hof gegeben, nein, wir haben natürlich auch das Liszthaus besucht (bei dem wir, anders als im Song "Weimar") gottseidank KEIN Hausverbot bekommen haben. Wir waren aber auch zu ehrfürchtig- allein schon wegen der fulminanten Führung des netten Herren dort, der unseren Audioguide völlig unnütz machte. "Wollen Sie etwas zu Liszt hören?" Immer.

So konnten wir noch den letzten Abguss von Franz Händchen im Museumsshop ergattern, der jetzt einen Ehrenplatz in unserem Salon bekommt, den Ihr im Posting weiter unten seht. "Wann hören die Tanten endlich mal auf, über Liszt zu schreiben?", fragt Ihr Euch. Vermutlich nie ;) - und bereits fürs dritte Album ist ein fetziger "No Thalberg" Track geplant. Warum? Weil wirs können. ;) Sagt auch Horus. And thank you, so much @franzliszt-official for sharing our entries! We are very delighted and hope you'll enjoy our pics and stay at Weimar as much as we did! <3

Am späten Nachmittag ging es dann weiter nach Torgau, zu dem geilsten Publikum der Welt!

Lisztober #1 : Enfant Prodige

@franzliszt-official rief und wir folgen... mit unserem ersten Beitrag zum Lisztober.

Das ist das erste Mal, seit langer Zeit, dass wir einen Songtext ohne Witz, Thirst und grossem Beat versehen haben. Ist schon fast eine Musicalnummer (das wär doch was! Ein Liszt-Musical!!!!) geworden ;) Also, holt Eure Feuerzeuge und schnulzt mit uns:

(Man möge uns übrigens verzeihen: Ich glaube, Franz war erst 15, als der Vater starb. Da hab ich gestern Abend aber nicht mehr nachgeschlagen, weil ich zu müde war ;))

Sitzen grad an dem Song für morgen, "Daguerreotypes of Old" - und ich fürchte, wir werden die ehrfürchtige Stimmung leider nicht halten können. ;)

To our English speakers: Thank you for the advice! Unfortunately, the translation sounds way more cheesy that the German lyrics, because the rhyme scheme is missing in the first place, but hey, you'll get the point ;) Some words are not translatable to English (like "Lütten"), so I tried my best to describe them as good as I could. ;)

Des Franzls Hand ist heute unbeschadet im Maidchen-Studio angekommen. Sehet, wie stolz wir sind, dass sie eingepfercht zwischen Racks und Keyboards die gesamten 10 h Fahrt von Weimar nach Torgau und zurück nach Hause ohne einen Kratzer überstanden hat, das schöne Ding. Und auf dem zweiten Bild seht ihr, warum Liszts Stücke auch so verdammt schwer zu spielen sind: Anbei der Grössenvergleich zu der kleinen Patschehand von Frl. Drosselmeyer (die mal ihre Nägel dringend nachlackieren muss ;)). Bei uns wird das also nix mit der Campanella, wir müssen wohl oder übel bei elektronischer Musik bleiben.

What's happening here? oO

Fräulein Lacelove has just informed me that we have passed the 1000 mark for the ‘Time Machine’ on Spotify overnight. And we've gained another 44 listeners within a week…

I just had to sit down for a moment.

Firstly, I think it's so nice that so many people like ‘Zeitmaschine’ - but we would never have dreamed that it would get so many listeners at some point. For comparison: our second most popular song ‘Wär ich ein Hund’ has - as of today - been listened to 353 times, and at the beginning of the month ‘Zeitmaschine’ was only just shortly above that.

I have no idea where this has come from so suddenly. Is it because of Lisztober? Is it because of our wonderful little label Eygennutz? Or is it because of our tireless angel of support, Bianca Stücker, who even plays our songs to her dance groups? (Please check her out, she is such a great artist, multi-instrumentalist, gifted tribal dancer, author and such a lovely and sweet human being!!!!) Is it because our friend Robert Lindner, who played our songs on his "Electronic Dreams" Radio show again and again for the last three months?

But we know what we feel: Thank you, really, thank you, thank you, thank you. We don't know who you are or where you come from. But we are humble. Most of all, I want to thank @franzliszt-official again, for creating this challenge. We are learning a lot about ourselves here. And all because of your idea. I think I'm about to cry a little. And then I'll rub Lacelove's nose in the fact that this all just because of Franz. ;)

Wir waren längere Zeit etwas ruhiger...aus gutem Grund!

Ihr schönen Menschen da draussen! Das Kätzchen ist aus dem Sack: Ab sofort sind wir beim wundertollen Label Eygennutz Verlag & Records zu finden, was uns unglaublich stolz macht! Es wirklich so schön, dass es so tolle Leute da draussen gibt, die uns verstehen! ❤️❤️ Allen voran die großartige Bianca Stücker, der wir das zu verdanken haben.

Wir arbeiten grad an neuen Songs für unser drittes Album, also seid gespannt!

Ausserdem sind wir ganz heiss auf den von @franzliszt-official ausgerufenen "Lisztober", an dem wir selbstverständlich teilnehmen werden. 🫀

Dear Maidchen friends,

Today we can officially announce that our third album ‘Alle meine Boyfriends sind tot’ is finally finished. And I have no idea how we managed it. I really don't. I wouldn't have expected it until December at the earliest.

Thanks to Lacelove's tireless efforts, while I am/was mainly busy here with Lisztober. (Unfortunately, Coppelia is currently too busy in Weimar , so the it's the two of us to rock it all together).

Now it's time to fine-tune the mastering and agree with the label when and how we can release this little piece of gold. Here's a photo of Lacelove's master session (insane edition with 3 monitors ;)) today. So there will be 16 ½ (!) new songs that we have been working on for an extremely long time.

And: We are also very happy to inform you that three songs from Lisztober will also make it onto the album: Lisztomanie, Zelle in Nonnenwerth and Symphonie Fantastique. Some other songs were dropped that weren't quite so important. We can live with that. That means you don't have to live without Franz on the new album - as on the previous ones.

Please think about how we can show our appreciation to you, dear @franzliszt-official(meant seriously, this time without being seductive…although we're up for that too. It is Franz, after all) - for the great idea of bringing this month to life. And for all the inspiration. <3

Good evening, everyone! Elektrische Maidchen are very happy to announce that we will have two music videos for our upcoming album "Alle meine Boyfriends sind tot.". Since the final shoot for ‘Wagner’ has unfortunately been delayed due to the tight schedule of one of the band members, we decided to shoot a music video for ‘Lisztomanie’ last night. You could already hear the raw version of the song at @franzliszt-official ' s Lisztober #10 ;) Apparently our label also really likes it, as you can see from the Instagram post below ;)

So we went all out again yesterday…corsets, straitjackets, cigars….and the thing was already finished last night. As you can see from the label posting in the background, the cognac wasn't just a prop…;) We will also post a lot of outtakes here. Here is a foretaste:
