Elektrotsoy is a duo out of Arkhangelsk in north of Russia, their music not portraying the cold landscape but maybe more fitting a place to mentally escape. There’s a sense of Alvvays to this but with much more of a bedroom diy vibe to it.
This new track of theirs is the opening track of Russian label Belka Records’ compilation release - one I’d personally love to get my hands on. It’s only available online and on cassette, showing some of the best independent bands the Russian countryside has to offer - probably the best sightseeing tour you can take in this coming corona winter.
You should put this tune on, venture into their universe, feel the winter, check out Belka Records and get lots in a mental roundtrip of Russia, might be a while before you can fully travel again anyhow, so what do you have to loose?
