Hello po, I would like to ask kung acapella lang po ba sa Live Audition? isa po ako sa natawagan kanina for audition sa Sept. 24. Thank you po.
Oh! Hi Rachael! Ikaw pala yung nakausap ko kanina. :)
Regarding the live auditions, you can perform your song while playing your preferred instrument (either keyboard or acoustic guitar). If you want to bring your own instrument, pwede din. Pero if not, meron naman sa venue. :)
You can also sing in a capella if you're more comfortable doing that. You can also bring someone to play for you, or you can bring a minus one. Okay lang naman basta the song is yours.
Pero syempre, mas maganda if ikaw yung kakanta and tutugtog at the same time. :)
If you have any more questions, just ask away. See you at the live auditions! GOOD LUCK! :D
EDITED: Okay lang kahit a capella! Gawin mo kung saan ka most comfortable. If hindi ka confident magplay ng instrument, daanin mo sa boses mo. Just do your best. Good Luck! :)
If you’re on the list, please expect a call from us starting Monday next week regarding the details of your live auditions. Please do not panic. There are a lot of applicants to call so just wait patiently until we get in touch with you. Please make sure to have your phones beside you starting next week. Thank you.
See you all at the live auditions! :)
TOP 10 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN THE 3rd ELEMENTS NATIONAL SINGING-SONGWRITING CAMP 2012
(From a previous camper's point of view)
1. First of all it is FREE. There's no application fee. Not to mention, THIS IS NOT A COMPETITION. It's a 5-day workshop, where you can meet a lot of great musicians without spending anything!
2. How often can you say that you were mentored by Gary Valenciano? Or that Louie Ocampo taught you how to improve your melody writing? Or that Gary Granada and Noel Cabangon taught you how to write lyrics better? It only happens here. (Well, unless you join X-factor/Protegee or some sort of talent contest... But then again, you'll only have 1 mentor while at the ELEMENTS camp, you are mentored by 24 of the best people in the music industry.)
3. Once chosen, you will now be part of a growing musician network that is beyond geographical boundaries. So far, we have 120 campers from the first two batches. Add another 60, and we will have 180 campers this year. Think big! In a span of 5 years, you will have a network of 300 musicians. In 10 years, 600 musicians! See how fast it is growing? You're now looking at the FUTURE of OPM and it's not limited to Luzon only but to Visayas and Mindanao as well.
4. It doesn't end in Dumaguete. You think this is only a 5-day thing? Yes, the camp may be over for us, but after the camp, we are actively setting up monthly productions to keep everything going. Yes, we do monthly gigs for the camp, sometimes 3 gigs in a month and we play everywhere! We setup gigs mostly in Manila but we're trying to organize a production for our Visayas and Mindanao campers. We do acoustic and full band gigs. If you're a camper, you can ask the people organizing the prods and we can add you to the lineup. Win-win for all of our aspiring campers because you don't have to look for gigs anymore. WE MAKE THEM.
5. Unlimited supply of wine and beer during camp! I'm adding this here because this is one helluva bonus! Free booze and you don't need to pay for anything!
6. OPEN JAM ALL NIGHT LONG. Yes, you can jam all you like in Dumaguete if you get in. Not to mention, there's a BIG POSSIBILITY that one of the mentors will jam with you. Last year, we were very lucky to have Raymund Marasigan, Ebe Dancel, Gabby Alipe, and Jay Durias during the open jam. They're game to play our own songs! See the unlimited possibilities? :D
7. We have new mentors coming this year. If you're one of the 60 campers chosen, YOU ARE VERY LUCKY! This year we have REY VALERA, OGIE ALCASID, MIKE VILLEGAS (of Color It Red/Rizal Underground), AIA DE LEON (of Imago), YENG CONSTANTINO, AUDIE GEMORA (President of Trumpets), CLARISSA OCAMPO (Renowned Mezzo-soprano), and GLOC-9!
(Not to mention, we are waiting for the confirmation of the vocalist of one of the biggest musical acts in OPM History. Can you guess who he is? His name starts with an E and his surname ends with an A. Yes. HIM!)
8. Campers get to be featured once in a while at WWW.RADIOREPUBLIC.PH! If you haven't heard of this website, then I guess you've been living under a rock. :p (Just kidding.) Radio Republic is an online internet radio station that plays 100 % OPM. ALL THE TIME. Forever. Try logging on to the website to see what I mean.
9. You can collaborate with the campers ALL YOU WANT. You can also look for bandmates/sessionists here because majority of the campers are multi-instrumentalist.
10. Last but not the least, the satisfaction that YOU were chosen out of all the applicants is in itself, a HUGE accomplishment.
