day four. 

it felt like nowadays, all rion did when spending time with elena was remind himself that he broke up with her for a reason. but it didn’t stop him from making her an exact replica of her favorite dress for her birthday or from finding more and more excuses to see her. exes could be just friends after a break up. but just friends never really looked at each other the way he still looked at her. and maybe going to the carnival together was just friends hanging out but something in him said otherwise. 

hands in his pockets, purposely avoiding reaching out to take elena’s hand, he stops in the middle of the pathway that split off, leading to different areas of the carnival. “what’s first?” he asks. “rides? food? a game so i can win you another oversized stuffed animal to add to your collection?” / @eubautista​

          An ‘SOS’ text from his sister usually wasn’t something Austin urgently responded to; given the multiple occasions she’d used the word just to get him out of the house. The added word ‘urgent’ helped, but the ‘this isn’t a joke’ really got him to move. London knows where the boundaries are for these things, especially if she could be in danger. So, arriving at her home at the stated time, Austin used the key he had for emergency reasons and let himself in,  “Lo?”  He calls out for his sister as he closes the door, already hearing the sound of voices coming from the kitchen. Steps quickly take him into the room where he finds his sister and, to his surprise, his ex-wife.  “— what’s going on?”
