Eleonore of Solms-Hohensolms-Lich
Alexandra, OTMAA and Nicholas in Livadia, 1912. Also seen are Ernest Louis, Grand Duke of Hesse, his wife Princess Eleonore of Solms-Hohensolms-Lich and Grand Duke Nicholas Nikolaevich of Russia.
So finally it's time to present my ocs
Gerard Heinrich Makota is the king of one of my fictional countries (Epheziran) on a fictional planet.
He was born in 1717.
He lived in prosperity until a civil war broke out between the opponents and supporters of the then king – his father.
Once, at the age of 12, he was kidnapped by his father's enemies. Imprisoned and tortured.
In fact, he managed to escape thanks to luck. Of course, he didn't know where he was. He got lost in a mountain village. He was adopted by a peasant family and lived there until he showed too much political knowledge to the village lord. The court was informed and Gerard returned to the palace. Peace was already established.
Gerard from times in the village.
Gerard, having experienced life as a peasant and an aristocrat, has a somewhat unclear identity because of this. He is modest, hard-working and his motto as a king is to serve the nation. Unfortunately, he also has a problem with perfectionism, complexes and workaholism. He has retained a certain resentment towards the aristocracy and avoids social situations.
As for his interests, he is a master violinist, composer, likes to make architectural designs, and also ride horses (and, to everyone's surprise, takes care of them).
He suffers from a mysterious condition that causes him to struggle with chronic pain.
Some pics of him.
The person closest to him is his valet Archibald.
Going to Archibald, his full name is Archibald von Rosenberg. He was born in 1703. His father is from Epheziran, but his mother is from another country. In his youth he had many siblings.
Before the war, he set off on an educational journey across the continent. During his time there, he befriended a certain Willem. Unfortunately, they returned to Epheziran while the civil war was still ongoing and Archibald lost his friend. However, this was not the only loss he experienced. His entire family was murdered during his absence by the opponents of the then king (von Rosenberg supported the ruler).
Archibald's only living relative is his uncle who lives abroad.
A family friend invited the resigned Archibald to the royal court. There he met the crown prince. He was intrigued by his ability to play the violin. He took the opportunity to become Gerard's first valet.
He is a calm, serious and faithful man, helpful and hard-working, but he has a problem establishing his own identity not only by relying on serving people.
Some pics of him.
Gerard is the most precious man to Archibald. They actually are in love together(so expect them together often), but they keep it a secret from almost everybody to avoid scandals.
Another three characters.
Eleonore is born in 1719. She is Gerard's wife by arranged political marriage. They are friends, but they have agreement that they can romance with anybody, because two of them aren't connected by romantic feelings.
On the contrary to her husband, she is outgoing and confident. She is often surrounded by her ladies-in-waiting.
Sophie is Gerard's sister. She is born in 1714. She was married to the king of a neighboring country so that the countries could form an alliance, so she did not see her brother for over 10 years. Unlike Eleonore, she is reserved, prudent.
Ludwig is born in 1712. He is a caricature artists. He lives in the royal court and has some function, but he doesn't talk much about work. He loves parties, card games, company, although he can also create trouble.
It also sucks that the possibility of a romance between Robespierre and Eleonore is shut down in most fiction with stuff like a) he was gay in a "I hate women and am immune to societal pressure and heteronormativity" way b) she was ugly, plain, evil, only good for a pity fuck c) he was too obsessed with the Revolution to forge human connection with the people he literally lived with for 3 years
This is @jeremy-2772 's oc Eleonore. You can find out more about the lore in her pinned post.
